The bout is part of a star studded cast on the undercard to the Amir Khan vs. Devon Alexander Showtime televised main event, with Keith Thurman, Abner Mares, Victor Ortiz and Beibut Shumenov scheduled to appear in separate contests.
For Spence (14-0, 11 KO's), this is a long time coming as he's wanted opponents with name recognition since the beginning of 2014. Offers to Alfonso Gomez, Vernon Paris and others were rebuffed, so in steps the gritty Greek, Arnaoutis (25-10-2, 12 KO's). Arnaoutis spent the bulk of his career as the gatekeeping to the upper echelon at 140 pounds and has campaigned at '47 for the last half decade or so.
With names like Danny Garcia, Juan Urango, Kendall **** and Victor Ortiz on his ledger, Arnaoutis clearly carries the edge in experience. But no pretense here, as Spence has substantial advantages in every other category.
