i knew jessie vargas was training at roy jones new gym but i didn't know roy was training him for this fight until i read a article about it this week. im interested in seeing this tandem. i felt pascal should have kept roy in his camp as well, we'll see how that works out in his next fight.

Dan Rafael chat wrap 11/21:

- The judging panel for Algieri-Pacquiao is all from the US and includes Michael Pernick, who he considers one of the best judges in boxing.
- Does not think the catch weight of 144 means any advantage for either fighter. When he fights at 147, Manny usually weighs within a pound of 144. Manny actually has to put on weight for his fights. Roach said that Manny recently weighed in at 139 lbs. Roach and Manny believe he is slower at 147 and that his KO power does not carry from 140 to 147. Pacquiao says he walks around at 140 and he could still make 135 if he wanted to. To prepare for Algieri's height they have been sparring with Postol. Manny said he wants to knock Algieri out. Roach says that Manny has never told him going into a fight he wanted a KO. *From an article written yesterday by Rafael frequently referenced in the chat.
- Picks for Saturday: Pacquiao by KO, Lomachenko but not sure how, Vargas by decision, Shiming by decision.
- Heard rumors of Floyd-Cotto 2 in 2015, but does not buy them for a minute.
- Still saying Klitschko-Jennings in the US in the Spring is very possible.
- Wladimir did not like Pulev at all and was trash talking him.
- Purses: Pacquiao - more than $20 million, Algieri - est. $1.675 million.
- The Klitschko's get very little respect in America because they are not American. If they were American they would be superstars by now.
- Does not know the exact amount, but does know Mayweather paid Pacquiao "millions" to settle the civil suit where he accused Pacquiao of taking PED's.
- Danny Garcia does not have an exclusive contract with Showtime, so he could make a fight with Pacquiao...if Haymon allowed it.
- His understanding is the Mickey Rourke fight is an "exhibition", not a real fight.
- Wladimir would be a big favorite against all 3: Jennings, Stiverne, and Wilder. He would like to see Wlad fight Jennings and then fight the Stiverne-Wilder winner. Technically the Fury-Chisora winner is his mandatory. If he wanted to fight any of the mentioned fighters, the WBO would allow him an exception to fight whoever he wanted, in whatever order he wanted.
- Both sides have talked about making Canelo-Cotto. Once Top Rank gets back from China expect more to get done.
- Response to is Peterson-Garcia close to being made? "Ask Espinoza".
- He believes Roach when he said Manny dropped Khan in sparring.
- Predicting between 500-600k buys for Pacquiao-Algieri.
- Picking Crawford to beat Beltran.
- Alvarado-Rios 3 still being worked on. Again, let Top Rank get back from Macau and we will start seeing their fight schedule start to become more defined.
- Worst low blow he could think of was Trinidad on Vargas.
- Does not think Canelo-Cotto does 1 million PPV buys.
- Potential to be a bigger star, Mikey Garcia or Thurman? Thurman - he has a better personality and fighting style.
- If they fought today who wins: Sadam Ali or Spence? Spence. Thinks Spence could hang with most 147 fighters and could beat some of them - right now. Thinks he could give Brook, Guerrero, and Alexander all good fights.
- Algieri comes across as a very nice guy when dealing with him.
- Thought the Floyd Mayweather article in USA Today was very well done. It wasn't new information, but good insight on part of Mayweather's personality.
- Has meant Wilder several times and says he is a really nice guy.
- Does not think GGG-Hopkins ever happens.
- RJJ said he would like to broadcast a fight, work a corner, and fight in the same night...and there was no doubt he was serious.
- Top Rank would really like to bring Froch to Las Vegas to fight Gilberto Ramirez.
- Thinks that Pacquiao-Mayweather easily sells 3 million + PPV buys.
- Andre Ward is no closer to being back in the ring.
- Prime Tyson vs. Prime Wlad? Wlad by violent KO.
- Vargas is a name Arum has mentioned as a possible future Pacquiao opponent.
- Kovalev vs. Mohameddi? Easy work for Kovalev.
- FNF season premier main event: Darleys Perez vs. Jonathan Maicelo.
- He scored Provodnikov beating Algieri.
- Does not know Shiming's purse, but probably more than 500k.
- Thinks Manny's t-shirt in the Foot Locker commercial was designed for double meaning: Kobe and Mayweather.
- Gary Russell fight vs. TBA (seriously) on Dec. 20th in Shelton, WA off TV.
