One of the most one-sided beatdowns in CompuBox history. How bad was it? Castellanos landed a CompuBox jr. lightweight record 81 punches in round two. He landed an avg. of 46 punches per round- 28 more than the wgt. class avg. Rios was outlanded 186-26 in rounds two thru five.

man when you land 81 punches on a nikka in 1 round you need to pull his ass out of the fight ASAP..thats only 18 punches from the record in all divisions with 99 punches..thats how nikkas get hurt

Postol To Step Aside, Danny Garcia To Have Voluntary

Junior welterweight contender Viktor Postol's manager, Vadim Kornilov, has advised BoxingScene.com that an agreement is nearly complete to allow WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (29-0, 17KOs) to have a voluntary defense before facing Postol (26-0, 11KOs), who is the WBC's #1 ranked contender.

According to Kornilov, Garcia and Postol will both have the option to take voluntary fights in the next 4 months and barring a loss, Postol will keep his mandatory position.

"There is a step aside agreement that we have almost finalized. Postol and Garcia will both get options to take other fights over the next 4 months and then Postol will again be in the mandatory position to fight the WBC champion," Kornilov told BoxingScene.com.

The chances of a Garcia-Postol fight every occurring appear very remote. Garcia fought his last fight at a catchweight above the junior welterweight 140 pound weight limit and has stated his desire to move up in weight on numerous occasions.

Another potential roadblock is the divide between Al Haymon and Top Rank Promotions. Garcia is advised by the boxing power broker Haymon while Postol is promoted by Top Rank. Over the past few years there have only been a handful of fights that have taken place between both promotional companies and they all took place because of purse bids forced by the sanctioning bodies.

Kornilov said that the plan is for Postol to return to the ring in December.

That was a terrible ass stoppage :laff:

Yeah, Bowe didn't want that work, that's why he offered Lewis a unification fight with 11 mil guaranteed for Lennox. Only for Lennox to turn it down and fight Frank Bruno and Tommy Morrison instead :sas1:

Or how they agreed to fight in 94, only for Lewis to get KOed by McCall :sas2:

But yeah, Bowe was scared shytless of Lennox :bryan:
Even still, you can't defend Bowe actually throwing the fukking WBC belt in the :trash:. Even if he wasn't ducking Lennox, it did not do a good thing for him in terms of public perception, and that perception was that you would actually go through the action of literally throwing away a championship just so you don't fight this one cat who, coincidentally, beat you in the Olympics.

Just playin' Devil's Advocate, breh.:manny:

I hear you. Perception wise, it didn't do him any favors. But perception =/= reality.

The reality is that it had nothing to do with Lennox, and everything to do with the crooked ass WBC and their politics. There was alot going on between the Bowe's camp and the WBC, who was wrapped around Don King's finger. That was their way of saying fukk the WBC and treating their belt the way they looked at it: like trash.

What Bowe did was really no different than what Floyd threatened to do. Remember, not too long ago they had Manny Pacquiao as the #1 contender and mandatory to Floyd. That was their way of trying to force a fight between the 2. And Floyd threatened to drop the belt because of it. And what did everybody say? They all sided with Floyd, talking about "What did Manny do to deserve to be the # contender?" and "Floyd doesn't need the belts, belts don't make him" blah blah blah.

Look at the inconsistencies there :heh:
