So 2014 is shaping up to be the wackest year since..?

I use to read boxing news & go to boxing forums everyday. It's to the point now where I go a couple weeks sometimes with out checking the news, then check the news, & find out I haven't missed a thing.

There still has been plenty of good fights this year, see what Salido gave us just a few days ago. There just hasn't been as many big name fights that were good. Manny/Tim 2 was good, Maidana/Floyd 1 was good. I'm sure there's more from ppv undercards. Both of canelo's ppvs were letdowns, cotto/martinez was prolly the worst ppv main event in a while though.

if only cotto had at least ONE physical advantage(height/reach/power/chin), id pick him too.
Levels breh........................Winning a fight at the elite level aint about none of that shyt, Cotto aint no 6/7 loss fighter like Stevens or no fukking sparring partner like Ouma who troubled him

I'm not one of these guys who predict fights based on a weigh in, but man this nygga Soliman looks comfortable while Jermaine looks shot.

I really don't like these kind of fights for a shot fighter, which is a volume puncher that lacks power. That's 12 rounds of getting hit in the head continuously.
Exactly breh...i won't be surprised if soliman stops him late...especially if jermain gasses out like he's known to do

MGM grand is not going against no fukking Mayweather thats a Oscar pipe dream, pure bullshyt, I wouldn't even address that shyt if it wasnt for troll ass nikkas like @Newzz ........He brings 100 of millions to the LV economy with each fight and thats well known, who knows how much these dwindling fighters sell ppv wise which would be guaranteed to go against a Mayweather card, diminishing their sales off top

nikka, I never said Floyd wouldnt be fighting at the MGM Grand:ufdup:

I said Canelo can fight Miguel Cotto at Ceasar's Palace in Vegas

If Floyd try and get too cute, #TheCartel will come for MGM Grand though:mjpls:

ESPN buys Molina-Bundrage rights

October, 7, 2014

10:16AM ET

By Dan Rafael | ESPN.com

When Carlos Molina makes the first defense of his junior middleweight world title against mandatory challenger (and former titleholder) Cornelius “K9” Bundrage on Saturday night in Cancun, Mexico, American fans can watch the fight on ESPN Deportes thanks to a deal the network made with Molina promoter Leon Margules for the U.S. broadcast rights.

ESPN Deportes will carry the fight live from the Grand Oasis Cancun resort with undercard coverage beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET, according to the network. The ESPN Deportes telecast will be in Spanish, but those interested in an English-language broadcast can watch a live stream of the bout on ESPN3.com. The ESPN3.com stream will simulcast the broadcast from BoxNation in the United Kingdom.

“I’m glad that ESPN is giving us the opportunity to see Carlos’ fight in the United States,” Margules said. “We sold the fight all over the world, but the one place we hadn’t sold it was in the United States until we made a deal with ESPN [a few days ago]. I’m glad they picked it up.”

The fight is taking place in Molina’s native Mexico because the longtime Chicago resident was deported after it was discovered in March that he was in the United States illegally.

Molina (22-5-2, 6 KOs), 31, hasn’t fought since winning the belt by split decision against Ishe Smith in September 2013. He was due to make his first defense against Jermall Charlo this past March 8 in Las Vegas on the Canelo Alvarez-Alfredo Angulo Showtime PPV undercard. However, the fight was canceled a few days beforehand after Molina was jailed in Las Vegas on an outstanding warrant for failing to register as a sex offender for a past conviction. While he was in custody, it was discovered that he was in the United States illegally, and he was eventually deported to Mexico. With the mandatory due and Molina not allowed in the United States, Margules made a deal with Bundrage, a promotional free agent, to fight him in Mexico.

Bundrage (33-5, 19 KOs), 41, of Detroit, won the belt from Cory Spinks by fifth-round knockout in 2010 and made two successful defenses before losing it to Smith by majority decision in February 2013. Smith then lost the title to Molina in his first defense. Bundrage easily outpointed Joey Hernandez on Jan. 24 in a title eliminator to become Molina’s mandatory challenger.

In the co-feature, junior lightweight Rene Alvarado (20-3, 14 KOs), 25, of Nicaragua, faces Juan Pablo Sanchez (29-11, 13 KOs), 26, of Mexico, in a 10-rounder.

A Molina/K9 fight is lucky it's even being televised.

That bout will be ugly as fukk. :snoop:
I'm hoping these nikkas have chips on their shoulder so they say fukk it and brawl..especially since they are in Mexico

I see ESPN deportes is a channel on fios...i hope it's on my regular package and not on that bullshyt sports tier they recently created for these bullshyt ass sports
