curt my man and all BUT i don't care what he says, i still don't want him in the ring with ggg yet. kathy duva better not even try to make this fight yet either, personally i would like to see him get 3-4 fights, preferably vera next.

Vera's gonna need some time off after JCC Jr is done with him :steviej:

Stevens is right in pushing for a GGG fight because he'll make around 250k and fight on HBO. He won't make that much in 3-4 fights on NBC sports.

Eddie Chambers looked like :flabbynsick: and he couldn't connect on anything. Cruiserweight division is :trash: too.

-Chris Arreola vs. Seth Mitchell is OFFICIAL for September 6th on Showtime, undercard also includes Rafael Marquez and Josesito Lopez

-Humberto Soto returns September 28th against Ali Cheebah (who's been inactive since 2011)

-Curtis Stevens might get a HBO/Showtime fight next........though I honestly don't think he deserves a title shot, if GGG needs a fight to stay active, he's your guy. On the flip side, it's dangerous to fight a heavy handed slugger as a tune up, that's an easy way to get spoiled and lose out on potential big name/$$$ money fights in the future. Personally I would put Curtis Stevens in with Gabriel Rosado as an eliminator :whew:

-Eddie Chambers might as well move back to heavyweight, he's not fast enough to use his speed effectively at 200. And he's never been a puncher so....

-Mchunu is top notch talent, I'd love to see him in against a top Cruiserweight immediately

-Retire Guinn, let it go.

-Adamek finally gets a good look, time to step it back up

Decent card last night. Chambers got straight outboxed something serious by that Taye Diggs looking African nikka with the Rigo style. Eddie looked lost in there.

Adamek looked good for the first time in a hot minute. Too bad it was against Guinn

Stevens came through with a nasty 1st rd KO. Interview was classic as well. He's earned a shot at GGG imo. There's nobody out there that will help prepare him for dude anyway so he may as well take the payday.

GGG had a pretty awesome early KO of the Year as well with that Japanese dude. A fight with him and Stevens sells itself.

http://www.boxingscene.com/donaire-slimming-down-126-start-november--68325

By Ronnie Nathanielsz

Former WBO, Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion and 2012 “Fighter of the Year” Nonito “The Filipino Flash’ Donaire is slimming down to make the featherweight limit for his next fight which Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said would be on November 9.

Donaire said he doesn’t know who he will fight or even the venue but indicated “they probably will give me a fight in November at 126 pounds which I what I requested but aside from that I have no idea.”

Donaire told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard that he “will fight for the title by next year against the winner of the clash between former champion Orlando Salido and No.1 ranked Orlando Cruz which was mandated by WBO president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel after Mikey Garcia relinquished his title to move up to junior lightweight.

Garcia told us he would never fight his close friend Donaire and was in effect giving Nonito the opportunity to fight for the featherweight title which, if successful, would mean a fifth division crown for “The Filipino Flash.”

Donaire said he jogs every night since he helps look after son Jarel during the day while wife Rachel takes over the task at night. He said his son "is very strong."

Donaire said his weight is down to 136 from 144 and indicated the jogging was helping him “cut the weight although there is no boxing as yet.”

2012 “Trainer of the Year” Robert Garcia told the Standard “I know how hard it is for fighters to sacrifice to make weight and I know what they go through. Nonito would be more comfortable at 126 and even a bit stronger.”

Following a recent meeting Garcia in Las Vegas, Garcia said he asked Donaire to remove his shirt and was pleased to see “No fat. Nonito’s looking solid.” Donaire told us he would almost certainly train at the Garcia gym in Oxnard because he needs the trainer to be around while he prepares for his next fight.

Since he didn’t train in Oxnard for his last fight and lost to former two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux it appears that Donaire has realized he needs to train with Garcia keeping a close watch.

Who's available for November?

Chris John- Still recovering from the cut probably and wouldn't take the fight anyway :heh:
Billy Dib- :flabbynfif:
Robinson Castellanos- He beat Caballero, I'd say he's a good opponent
Celestino Caballero- When motivated can be competitive with anyone at 126
Javier Fortuna/Luis Franco- Pick one, though since one is Cuban........we all know how that ended last time :jawalrus:
JuanMa- :merchant:
Simpiwe Vetyeka- Donaire has a habit of moving up and fighting an African fighter :ohhh:

I didn't know it at the time but, history was made here......

Apparently Koki Eto is the first Japanese fighter in history to go to Thailand, and defeat a Thai World Champion :wow:
