The WBA muddied the waters with regular and interim titles. I don’t count them shyts. Is Vivian Harris more of a champ than Matthyse? They were both regular champs but Harris got elevated when Tszyu was stripped. Regular title was a glorified mandatory that WBA was able to get more fees from.
this is a terrible fight for jai...i get that zurdo is fighting dorticos (a dangerous fight to add) to satisfy a mando but there has to be a better fighter in the ibf rankings that they could have chose for jai

All the old timers would say Charley Burley. A look at his resume & you can see why they'd say that. Fighting well above his weight class for years because the champs avoided him & wouldn't give him a shot
Was just about to post this in reference to what fighters won titles by disqualification. This and Luis Santana (Terry Norris) come to mind.
to this day ppl have a hard time believing griffin was giving roy trouble and was not out of the fight scorecard wise when that DQ hit

He had Eddie Futch in his corner & to me that made a HUGE difference in giving Roy problems
Futch had a gift for dissecting elite boxers with game plans for his fighters

I's why Ken Norton gave Ali hell when they fought. Roy's style isn't far off from Ali's so Futch was already semi familiar to give him trouble. Even if Griffin had Futch in his corner for the 2nd fight, he might've been caught off guard with Roy coming out like a kamikaze lol
