if thats who yall stan instead of Bud then god bless you
I don't know what to think about this. Reading between the lines, it seems that James didn't have a proper contract.

Dealing with AJ and Ryan may opened James's eyes.

He was saying Floyd would routinely not pay his gambling debts

I figured that but he worded that so weird lol

I guess he was saying he would get markers and never pay them because that's the only way casinos allow you to pay on credit in America.

Floyd moves like a guy who hasn't made as much money as we thought he did......or simply his upkeep is so high that he just has to keep making more and more money to mantain what he has.

When this shyt first started going around back in January/February, somebody else in here hinted at the same thing you just posted:

There probably was no contract and the AJ payday might be what set this all in motion.

Right.

And he’s asking for 5 mil from a 20 million split?

They’ll settle out of court for 1.5-2.

Definitely always see boxers do some foul shyt when they lose though. Spence, Wilder, Kambosos of late. :francis:

Wilder still has to be the worst I've seen in the last ten years. Everybody on the team blamed Mark Breland.

No, he wants 2.5mil from the alleged 25mil that Spence made from that fight. The rest of the money is what DJ believes he didn't receive beginning from the Mikey Garcia fight onward.

The problem with all these scenarios is it’s never a ‘one size fits all’ agreement.

Take Mayweather for example, fell out with his pads guy last year, wasn’t paying him much at all. Same with Davis, at one point he had a dispute with Ford, dropped him as lead trainer altogether. Then the aftermath revealed that Davis doesn’t provide Ford with a set percentage at all, in any of the fights.

I hope for Tanks sake that he can get away from Mayweather and Ellerbe soon enough. Sure they built him, his brand, profile etc, there’s no denying that. But they clearly fleeced him in the process, and do their best to continue to do so.

Davis has been unhappy with TMT for at least the last 3 years (more like 4-5.) It's all online if you want to dig it up.

Davis attempted to leave TMT after the Rolly fight (what he thought was his final, contractual obligation, that fight being an in house production by TMT, they had promotional contracts with both fighters.)

Davis has been bound to an unfortunate, long term contract under TMT/PBC, in other words, the split is split and then split again. He's attempted to fight just under PBC, which at this point in his career is a much greater purse. Buying out contracts is a precarious pursuit however. Garcia is no different in this sense, he'd much prefer to be away from Golden Boy, but who buys out the contract?
