WBO and WBA unification
How can it be a WBO unification when Bud isn't champ? And the other dude is WBA champ so he can't be in the WBO rankings.
It would likely be WBA on the line and then post fight winner can aim to Unify with someone.

I'm interested to see if Mell goes to 160 or back to 154. Mell is WBC champ in recess so technically he can come back and the Fundora Tim winner would need to fight him to at least keep the WBC belt

That would be under the pretense that Fundora drops the belt but Lewkowiccz said Fundora's gonna heal up and run a rematch back with Tszyu.
Fundora dropping the belt doesn't = Bud champ. It would mean Bud vs Number 1 contender, the other dude is WBA champ so he couldn't find his way in that.
The only thing I could see is Bud fights Josh Kelly ASAP (he can treat it was a tune up) thus Bud would be in position to be elevated to full champ and then the Saudi unification could happen in fall (it would give WBO the pass to "strip" Fundora).

WBC had Spence ranked top 10 at 154 literally the week or so after he loss to Bud and delcared he was moving up lol
Whether they changed it since then who knows but them cooking the books to make Spence ranked again and claiming they "added him back since they know he is active now" would cover their tracks.
And as we see with WBC Being interim or silver champ doesn't = title shot (if that was the case then Lubin and the Ukraine dude shoulda been fighting and one of them being called up to fight Tim instead of Fundora or even Mendoza being on the card).
The WBC doesn't try to fake the funk of being honerable like the WBO is doing. So if WBO is about that life then we should be seeing Bud vs Kelly this summer and winner gets elevated if Fundora chooses to fight Tim once he is cleared medically.
same...madrimov's biggest flaw is that he gasses himself out in the 2nd half of his fight when he doesnt need to...he fights in a herky jerky rhythm which makes it a mfr to time him..every single time in a fight he moves more than he should he hits the wall..something you cant do against crawford

1. Terence Crawford politicking with the WBO for years has come in great for him. I believe he accepted to fight every single mandatory that came his way for the WBO at 147. That visit in Puerto Rico to see the WBO president wasn't by accident
2. Tim Tszyu's manager a week before the Tim-Fundora fight said he an option was to drop the WBO belt so they could fight Spence. So that can be at play for anyone who has the WBO at 154 if they do not want to face Crawford

WBO has that rule that you can move up in weight and be the immediate mandatory. So anyone holding the WBO will have to face Crawford next

It’s rare but not without example that the champ of another org fights for a vacant title in a unification, happened with the Canelo vs Smith fight not long ago.
