79-82 SRL is one of the best fighters that’s ever been on film. But he was largely inactive after that.
Hagler being declined is more acceptable since Ray was declined as well and naturally smaller. The Lalonde stuff was real calculated, going down a full division. Ray, Hearns, and Duran were all declined when they fought again in 89’.
Hagler declined naturally as a boxer but never fought until he lost his physical powers completely like the other 3
Hearns problem was he went up too high in weight and too long and was having hard fights
Duran started having some embarrassing losses...some to decent/good fighters..some not so good...Duran ko'ed the owner of my old boxing gym when he was a pro in the 90s
...but that Joppy fight somebody should have been fired for that...that didnt sit right with me at all
