Facts. What Canelo has an advantage over Benavidez is that he has the punching power, and is very good at going to the body, which is odd that no one has really attacked Benavidez's body that much. Also Benavidez has very basic footwork and stands up very straight which would create openings for Canelo to target his body

This is why it's odd that Canelo won't take the fight. I'm leaning towards Canelo ducking, but I'm not jumping out the window like everyone else. I think it's more of "at this stage of my career I don't want a tough fight". Don't think Canelo is outright "scared" of Benevidez. He sees it as a 50/50 or a 55/45 fight and maybe he thinks it's too much for him at this point of his career

I think it’s hard to go to someone’s body when you constantly blocking your face. I think Plant did good work but he didn’t have enough pop.

If the belts don't matter, then why not just relinquish the belts then?
Like this fight that just happened this weekend, Raymond Ford vs Kholmotov, classic fights. Ford is what 14-0 and Kholmotov is like 15-0. Imagine if there was a legend currently at that weight class approaching his mid 30s hogging the belts. That fight wouldn't have even happened

This is part of the reason why Boxing has a tendency of getting stale. Young up and coming fighters with hunger ready to prove themselves. I criticize PBC for taking part in this, but some blame has to go towards Canelo's way as well

Yeah by Floyd not having belts while in the division he allowed Thurman and EJ to build and eventually become bigger names off the belts

the funny thing is there are PBC fighters that have lived or are living with their folks during their careers...jarrett hurd was one of them..nikka was a whole unified world champion making like 600-700K per fight and he was still living at home..they did a whole segment on it

shyt he couldn’t afford a nice house with that in DC. Would have had to stay in Capitol Heights with Russells
