I dunno, Res.:patrice:

I have a feeling Benavidez is definitely in the cards, if a fight with Munguía does end up on PBC.

Getting out of the previous deal means Canelo can have proper negotiations for the David fight.
Someone has a mind of their own here :salute:
Smart man.

Keepin it a bean, still do believe Canelo presents realllll issues for Benavidez. Benavidez not walking through fire from Canelo like it’s Plant or Andrede

Facts. What Canelo has an advantage over Benavidez is that he has the punching power, and is very good at going to the body, which is odd that no one has really attacked Benavidez's body that much. Also Benavidez has very basic footwork and stands up very straight which would create openings for Canelo to target his body

This is why it's odd that Canelo won't take the fight. I'm leaning towards Canelo ducking, but I'm not jumping out the window like everyone else. I think it's more of "at this stage of my career I don't want a tough fight". Don't think Canelo is outright "scared" of Benevidez. He sees it as a 50/50 or a 55/45 fight and maybe he thinks it's too much for him at this point of his career

Then that’s ducking :gucci: :wtf:.

I’m also a Canelo fan, but a lot of his fan seems to have more belief in his ability to beat David than Canelo does himself, by a substantial margin.

Canelo seems to have no issues fighting the John Ryder’s, Billy Joe Saunders, even the Charlo’s of the world, but you mention David and he acts like he doesn’t know WTF you’re talking about. Why is that? Because Canelo knows in his heart of hearts to win that fight he’s going to have to go to a place he probably doesn’t want to at this stage of his life, or it’s a place he’s not even sure he can reach anymore.

Let’s be real: we know triangle theories don’t work in boxing. However, the one dude they both fought, David beat up worse than Canelo. Canelo caught dude with a good shot and rocked him in the late stages of the fight, finished him, and he great body attack that night. David was punishing Plant the second half of that fight. Most of us know that a sustained beatdown is worse than a knockout for a fighter. Hell, Plant hasn’t fought since. I haven’t even heard of any rumors of him fighting anyone.

David just lumped up Boo Boo something serious—a dude some people were championing as underrated and avoided for yearsssssssss (not me). David is big af for the division, with power in both hands, fast hands, combination punching, he’s not going to pull a Charlo. He will come to knock Canelo’s head off or lose trying. He’s *Mayweather voice* a young hungry lion.

Dude is EGREGIOUSLY ducking him. Like, it’s actually embarrassing for a for guy of Canelo’s magnitude to be this scared of a man in his own damn division. I don’t know how you get up in the mirror, put on that Burger King crown, talk all that I’m the face of boxing shyt, and you got a dude that lives on the same block that you’re afraid of so you leave the house with your head on a swivel like Elena’s cousin in Menace II Society :wow:.

It actually boggles my mind that boxing fans are cool with this kind of stuff, but boxing fans are also weird (see last few pages of this thread). If it’s not shamelessly dikkriding promoters, fighters, and fighter’s bytch made decisions—it’s acting like BLATANT ducks aren’t ducks.

Dude is ducking David and has been for years.

Can't argue with you there, you right it's a duck
But IMO the reason this is getting alot of backlash has more to do with the sanctioning bodies not stripping Canelo of all of his belts for not fighting top contenders than it has to do with him not fighting Benevidez. Not having Mbilli, Benavidez, Morrell, Diego Pacheco, etc not competing for titles at 168 is an absolute tragedy and straight up evil

If Canelo had no belts and was fighting making 3 fight deals with Berlanga and Jake Paul, less people would be this enraged

I remember when boxing fans hounded Andre ward cause he was supposedly terrified of Sergei kovalev :mjlol:....stalked all of his social media pages for years calling him a coward and a p*ssy. And ward was just like "the fight will happen when it happens":yeshrug:

This is what you guys don't understand. These fighters don't owe you anything. The sheer stupidity to think fighters at this level are afraid of eachother is hilarious. Especially a fighter of canelo's caliber. It was the same shyt with golovkin. He was supposed to be the terminator. The big bad bully. Then once they fought we seen who bullied who. And it'll be no different with benavidez. Then you guys will find a new name to claim canelo is afraid of and pretend David was always overrated. And this is why these fighters stopped caring about our opinions and started focusing on chasing the bag. Cause boxing fans are fickle as hell.

David is 26. He ain't going anywhere. Whether the fight happens now or in 2 years all of you crying right now are still gonna be glued to your TV's regardless. Canelo already knows he gotta see David at some point. He also knows the hype for it will only get stronger at time goes on. So he don't gotta rush for anybody. The fight will happen when it happens. As a canelo fan I hope it happens soon because of his age. But regardless, whenever it does happen, it's not gonna go how y'all think. But go ahead and keep believing David is unstoppable because he beat a china chinned Andrade. We'll see when they finally get in the ring who was right.

Boxing fans don't care about belts anymore. Most boxing fans don't even know anything about mandatories or the rankings of most divisions. The names are what matter to fans. Which is why tank vs Ryan sold what it did. David himself doesn't care about the belts. He's proven that throughout his career. He wants that payday and that's always been his main motivation.

Fans would be begging canelo for this fight regardless if he had the belts or not. Just like they were begging canelo to fight golovkin even when they were in separate divisions. Titles are meaningless to most fans nowadays.

Canelo and David waiting for them Saudis to come calling.

Why make 55 & 5 million, when you can make 80 & 30 million instead.

And i can NOT be mad at that. In the mean time, instead if waiting for Canelo, I hate Benavidez going to 175 for Gvozdyk. Fight Berlanga or Mibili or Morrel (more than the first two). If/when he fights Canelo this fall, don’t want to hear shyt about “the weight cut to get back to 168 affected my performance” built in excuse. Not gonna fly

The only issue in this fight is stamina.
If canelo fights smart, holds when he needs to, and just uses his boxing skills, it will mosley.vs margarito all over again.

But Canelo can not gass out in this fight, he needs to be in great shape and he's not getting any younger. If i was him, id take that fight this year. But he seems like he wants no part of it

The wild thing is David is maybe 2-4 years Away from peak prime lol. The Sooner the better for Canelo but I think the Window to take advantage of a Green David has passed, unless Canelo lucks up and David has a bad weight cut coming back down.

It's a L for both sides.
Anybody who believed Glazer took a L obviously, at this point we got to hope the Saudis come thru in the 11th hour and overpay
But PBC stans spent a week talking about how it was smart for PBC not to overpay for a Charlo fight and now they got to still give Canelo a big guarantee, pay Munguia more than Charlo would have got, and whatever split is involved in a cross promotion type situation. It's more upside on that fight but we'll see. And Canelo still might not give them a Benavidez fight. So the "win" is Canelo having PBC by the balls playing games and leaking shyt to get his way? I guess
