Chris Algeri said it once on one of his podcasts. No one wants to be a on a highlight reel losing to Shakur and being Shakur's stepping stone to be a top P4P fighter. So they will wait until it is financially viable to take that risk. Shakur gotta go through the weird "I'll fight you if you fight this random dude" type of fights before he can make the big fights. It is what it is

Him and Devin have all the skill to get guys outta there like Pretty Boy Floyd and build that following but they're steady fighting like Money Mayweather without the larger than life personality that draws no heat.

In the same token Tank should've been knocked the beans of these guys before they matured to being better fighters. Now if he fights them its not as guaranteed.

Outside HW, Black Americans aren't allowed to get hit. You get clipped good one time and it's "he gets hit too much/his defense is trash". Or the best one, "what's gonna happen when ____ hits him?"

You try to display sound defense and youre "boring" with no heart or "his chin hasn't been tested". Can't handle pressure.

Any other ethnicity or nationality could get pummelled to a pulp and ask for more, and theyll be applauded for their iron will. We don't get the "warrior" treatment. We just get criticized and lose rounds.

The argument is PBC cant afford the canelo deal but most folks saying it are the typical anti PBC types. No fight other than Benevidez makes sense for Canelo and im sure the saudis would bank roll it (this is assuming money is the concern).
