Zab was my guy. Randomly bumped into him twice. The first at the PR Parade in 02 or 03. And then another time when helping my cousin move from Brooklyn to Astoria before I joined the Navy. I went up to him and strangely he remembered me.
But I didn't hate Spinks. The nikka came from lineage. But I wasn't with theatrics.
. Zab was definitely the guy.Prime Zab was tracking to be one of the bigger boxing names of the 21st century. The hype was huge around Zab vs Tyszu.
Even though Tsyzu was great, part of me was shattered when Zab went out like that. He lost a lot of that legitimate Brownsville braggadocio after that, the paint got chipped, and he, and his brand, they were never really the same after that (Spinks win aside.)

I wanna see Boots against a some tougher comp. Him versus Stanionis AKA One Punch Man would be a decent start. Boots & Vergil Ortiz would’ve been a great fight

I remember when they came in the game, they had dudes running the gauntlet at 147, 154, and 160. Fighters couldn't avoid each other.
Now it seems like they're in the business of having the most popular fighters not necessarily the having the best fighters.
Seen that coming. Pretty sure Fast Eddie will make sure he's taken care of. Probably give him a booth job or something.
One thing about Eddie, is he's down that he looks out for these cats post-retirement. I'll forever be a fan of how he got Gabe in the booth and out of the ring.
