So let me ask you this - once Spence activated the rematch clause, was Bud free to negotiate with other fighters? If not, then he was locked in to the rematch, was he not?

Come on man, use your head :mjlol:

I could go on and on with this but this will be my last statement because its going away from my intial point and into diffrent arguments where alot could be discussed and it would just drag on.

He would be locked in for the rematch AFTER HE SIGNED IT!....he could have explored other options in the past 6 months, which he didn't do and like he said was taking trips. He also downplayed alot of the fighters that were good options for him for the past 6 months so i don't know who he would be negotiating with. Reality is that he got a big buzz off that Spence win, nobody really cared for the rematch and they never signed a contract for the rematch.

Firstly, Ennis didn’t mandate the Crawford fight, the IBF did.

And what is this 8 years you’re talking about?

He fukked your girl right? That’s what this is about? That’s the only way this makes sense lol.
He's been a pro for 8 years. Turned pro in 2016 and has fought absolutely no one. That's almost a decade as a pro fighter and doesn't has fought aboslute one sided competition.

... My bad, he beat lipinents and Villa :russ:

He didn't vacate, he was stripped because Spence activated his rematch clause. This is something that has been pointed out to you in this thread multiple times.

This is not true.

Just in case anyone thinks I have an axe to grind here, I'm a Spence fan and picked him to win against Crawford.

Vacated, stripped, removed, same shyt, call it whatever you want.

Look up any Crawford quotes before they even announced that IBF belt was ‘stripped’ re an Ennis bout. Every one of them he states he doesn’t want a fight with Ennis.

And that’s not a problem, I get it; but stfu with all the bullshyt around it, call it for what it is.

at the height of the triple gawd hate, ppl were making fun of the fact that Brook was getting off his shots on him until it was made clear GGG nearly blinded him permanently

its still a gotdamn shame..in the right world Brook takes the zero and IBF belt from Porter and goes into an undisputed fight with Floyd after Pac..a fight he earned too..not fukking Andre Berto :hhh:

I wasn't going to say anything but this is 100% truth. I've noticed the dudes that picked Spence to win have the most to say :heh:
I picked Crawford from the jump, but I’m surprised at the level of hyperbole for someone that wants to take a year off after gathering undisputed?

Just don’t say it’s something else.

Oh... ok? :jbhmm:

In all seriousness, if you can't understand the difference between Bud being stripped because he has to honor the rematch with Spence, and him voluntarily dropping the title to avoid fighting Boots, I really don't know what to tell you.

He would be locked in for the rematch AFTER HE SIGNED IT!
Nope.

Even if Crawford wished to fight Ennis rather than take part in a far bigger matchup against someone like Alvarez, he would have to face Spence after the latter exercised the rematch clause in August.

Unlike the other three sanctioning bodies, the IBF doesn't recognize rematch clauses as an exception to a mandatory defense, so Crawford was stripped with the title handed to Ennis.

Key words there - HAVE TO. Once Spence triggered the rematch clause, Bud had not other option than to fight him. He was stripped of a world title because of it. That is the very definition of 'locked in'

.he could have explored other options in the past 6 months
No, he literally couldn't. See above.

this will be my last statement
Probably for the best :mjlol:

dawg you loud and wrong
the right to rematch is part of the first fight's contract, which Bud already would have signed
it gives the A side the right to contractually trigger a rematch if they want, which Spence did at some point. Not sure what's so confusing as it's a common stipulation in big boxing matches

Spence activated the clause in Sept the IBF stripped Crawford in November

I would have liked it to be Tszyu vs Charlo, Spence or Bud for the Amazon first time deal.....the first card isn't the big splash as hoped, but it is still solid. All this talk about who is stalled and the real one who been stalled for the last few years is the PBC OG Keith Thurman. Dude should been on like 6-7 cards in the past few years, which didn't work out. So, Al got him on this one. Its loyalty.

I got Rolly over Cruz
