Yes Opetaia was his step up fight. He was still a good prospect nevertheless. And I love how so many have overlooked that alot of fighters in the Cruiserweight division were ducking Opetaia for that match, and Jordan Thompson was the only one who wanted to take a chance to fight him

And Opetaia himself was coming back from both a jaw surgery and hand surgery as well
I do remember people turning him down so I shoot him bail but I’m not going to give him credit for fighting the 6 and 7th best British cruiser weights

opetaia seems to be the goods talent wise but he's going to need to get in the mix with notable cruisers...thompson is not a notable cruiser by any means...i know the cruiserweight division lol....breidis was a good win but breidis inflicted a lot of injuries on him

Right.

Briedis however is as big a scalp at cruiserweight as it gets though. Plenty of junk fighters at this weight atm. Billam-Smith, Riakporhe, Okolie, absolute garbage.

Opetaia is one of, if not the hungriest fighters on the planet atm. Definitely has the best punch going in boxing atm (straight left with a hip shift to get more on it.)

Tbh the only fighters I see mixing it with him at this weight is good boxers like Ramirez who has moved up, or perhaps even oldies like Jack on a good day, or Briedis again.
