I don't have a problem with PBC. shyt, I'm probably one of the biggest Deontay Wilder fans on here, and they have done a great job in promoting his career
But I feel at times PBC acts like the chitlin circuit by how they do their matchmaking
Mayweather negatively influenced them. The stars now are treated like they are Floyd without any of his accolades. PBC has a problem not having enough 50/50 fights where it's not a forgone conclusion who is going to win. They think fans are dumb, but they are not. And that has cost them to lose money and contribute to Showtime kicking them out
Not a fan at all of Bob Arum and Eddie Hearn is ehh to me. But Top Rank and DAZN are so much better at putting up more competitive fights that fans actually want to watch
My (and others) point as people are trying to conflate 2 arguments as to why Showtime no longer has boxing.
Showtime does not have sports related content period anymore because Sports in general bleeds money and if your bread and butter isn't sports or you aren't providing critical sporting content (for USA that would be NFL and NBA) then the ROI is not there being that all these companies are bleeding money trying to figure out how to make revenue in streaming.
We can argue that the Floyd Mayweather era showed us the negative side of the game where instead of things being unbalanced to the Promoter, now things as far as PBC was involved became unbalanced to the Boxer, and with any unbalance you see issues (front end or back end).
UFC for example has a back end issue when it comes to pay regardless of how good the front end product is, we can say PBC's issue was the backend was so good the front end suffered, BUT still that is unrelated to the issue especially when PBC has been pulling in bigger gates than anyone else (whether directly or co promotion) for the most part.
