I'm sure Haymon will find a new home for PBC if showtime is getting out of the boxing biz. Golden Boy was on different networks before DAZN stepped in. The irony would be if DAZN became the new home lol. The think pieces that would be created from it lol.

They did it to themselves internally. There was so much promise initially but paying fighters insane amounts of money to fight once a year has to have some sorta effect on the check book.

This could be a disaster. And could potentially kill boxing in the casual spaces. It would effectively turn it into a niche sport. Even more than it is. Where would they even promote?....would they have countdown shows?....after all the momentum boxing has built up this would basically take them back to square one. Boxing needs to become more accessible, not less. Even dazn is barely hanging on at this point. Even after years of growing their brand the people still haven't been able to fully embrace it. ESPN might be the only options at this point.

Smh promoter cold war killed HBO and showtime.
And this is exactly the problem with boxing. The promoters let their own ego's kill the sport. The people still love it. The numbers prove that boxing is still the king as long as the right matchups are made. But we just don't get enough of em.

A lot of posters defended PBC's moves tooth and nail over the years. But at the end of the day, they failed :yeshrug: .....they had all that talent and barely gave us any great matchups. They had some good stretches here and there. This last year especially. But overall. Considering all the talent they had. Their whole run was very disappointing. The whole PBC thing might have seemed like a great idea. But it only works if you actually put on a great product. They were making cards with C level guys headlining on national television. It made no sense.

How many PBC fighters will even make the hall of Fame if they retired right now?....that's because most of them have trash resumes because PBC gave them trash fights their whole career. Now they wanna smarten up and put on great fights but it's too little too late. And they're probably only doing this because they knew that showtime contract was expiring. They're like a mid basketball player who balls out in the last year of their contract in hopes another team will be stupid enough to overpay them again. But obviously showtime wasn't falling for it.

Now they've lost the trust of all the networks. PBC just needs to disband altogether. It didn't work, and everyone gotta admit it now. The guys running that company are just out of touch with the culture of today. Buying up all the talent and then not even matching up that talent with eachother is idiotic. Then you wanna freeze everyone out on top of it :snoop:

All of these networks are trash. ESPN and dazn too. Because they're being run by dinosaurs who don't know actually know the sport. It's sad to see but I'm glad they're all getting their karma.

Al Haymon lost. Guess the Floyd Mayweather blueprint didn’t work out too well for his stable of fighters :mjlol:
