And before y'all say anything, IF Canelo wins(I'm riding with my boy Mell like I always have win or lose) he will get max respect from me for this win. Mell is a P4P fighter, these are the type of fights boxing needs more of.

This fight deserves just as much respect on it as Spence shoulda got for Mikey, Crawford should get for Gamboa, Fulton should get for Inoue, Pryor got for Arguello, Leonard got for Duran, Joshua got for Usyk. Guys been moving up and challenging for belts since the beginning of boxing, that's the name of the game. Win or lose both fighters should get respect and credit for that shyt. That's part of the reason we don't get good fights all the time now in recent years, you always hear the 'well he never won a belt in that weight class.' bullshyt man fukk them belts. As long as you've handled business where you at or you making a great fight it shouldn't be held against you.

The fight where everyone except the pac haters on here saw pac winning this rough ass fight handily..the final Pac TR fight and the final TV appearance on regular ESPN before being demoted for Teddy Atlas.

Out of curiosity...

How are we ranking the Lightweights in a top 5. Mix of resume and eye test.

Who's everyones favourite prospect?

You think he's number one based on your eye test though :patrice:

Think he deserves way more respect, he's put in the work
if anybody wants to be considered above him..they gotta beat him...simple as that..he wrapped up the division...and he still passes the eye test because his skills made the undisputed shyt happen

I disagree, it's clearly a cherry pick and there are better options out there. There are a lot of big fights happening this year and Canelo and his team knew that another "John Ryder" type of opponent would not be sufficient.

Boxing is a business, and by selecting Charlo, he gets a very winnable fight against a B side that garners enough interest for fans to tune in. When they put together these 3 fight deals, they are able to anticipate in advance how these fights will go.

I'm just trying to see entertaining fights. These type of weight gap fights in recent years have not been entertaining from Spence/Garcia, GGG/Brook, Canelo/Khan, Mayweather/Marquez, etc.

They're solely money fights. Jermell is clearly outgunned, and for nyggas to go in these threads and try to position this as some sort of risky fight for Canelo is beyond silly at this point.

nikka... I DON'T GIVE A DAMN BOUT THAT BULLshyt YOU TALKING, CHARLO BY KO!!! :demonic:

With all due respect of course. :whoa:

I'm just happy for my boy Mell, he finally got a money fight and a chance to get real recognition. Even if he loses, but puts up a good fight he'll earn himself a few more paydays... in particular with Spence down the road.
