Good. There needs to be a balance.
mike is one of the greatest HWs of all the time...did he have flaws? yeah...could he have been more than what he was? yeah but his skillset is GOAT tier and he did accomplish more than a good amount of heavyweights

Jarrett Hurd Says He Will Be Back in The Ring ‘Sometime This Year’

Former unified 154-pounder Jarrett Hurd will be flinging punches once again.
In an Instagram post published on his account several days ago, Hurd, of Accokeek, Maryland, signaled his intention to resume his career, saying he needed to step away from the sport for an extended period of time in order to take care of personal issues.
“Took some time off from the sport, really needed it to fully [grieve] over the [loss] of my father,” Hurd wrote. “He had a big impact on me with this sport. During this time allow[ed] my body to rest, changed my eating habits and opened up 3 businesses. I’ll be back sometime this year.
Added Hurd, “One thing that life has taught me … before you take a win, you have to take a thousand losses. #TheReturn.”
The 32-year-old Hurd, who once held the IBF and WBA junior middleweight titles, last fought in June 2021, in which he suffered a mild upset to Luis Arias in a 10-round middleweight bout. It was a disappointing outcome for a fighter who, not long ago, was regarded as the “bogeyman” of the 154-pound class. A pressure fighter with counterpunching ability and imposing size, Hurd made a name for himself by consistently being involved in entertaining fights.
Hurd (24-2, 16 KOs) first became a player at 154 when he stopped then undefeated Frank Galarza in 2015.
In 2017, he won the IBF 154-pound title with a ninth-round stoppage of Tony Harrison. Hurd followed up that performance with a 10th-round knockout of Austin Trout.
In 2018, Hurd added the WBA strap to his wares with a split decision win over Erislandy Lara in a 12-round barnburner that became a Fight of the Year contender.
Hurd ended up losing his titles to Julian Williams, in their 2019 unification bout, by unanimous decision in Hurd's own backyard. Thereafter, Hurd suffered from inactivity and an apparent decline in his abilities.

Alexis Rocha To Headline Jan. 28 DAZN Show In Greater Los Angeles Area

Alexis Rocha will headline DAZN’s first stateside show of the new year.
BoxingScene.com has learned that Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN have finalized plans for a January 28 show, kicking off an aggressive scheduling stretch for the sports streaming platform. Rocha will face Atlantic City’s Anthony Young in the main event from the state-of-the-art YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California.
Further details on the card are not available as this goes to publish. Representatives from Golden Boy and DAZN did not respond to inquiries seeking comment or confirmation.
The date was originally reserved for Ryan Garcia, who was due to face Mercito Gesta in a stay-busy fight ahead of his planned springtime superfight versus Gervonta Davis. Garcia opted out of the date, preferring to go straight into a fight with Davis (27-0, 25KOs). The move left Golden Boy to search for a new main event to preserve its first fight date of 2023.
Rocha (21-1, 13KOs) will reap the benefits, as he will fight for the fifth time in a span of just over 14 months. The 25-year-old southpaw from Irvine, California enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2022, posting three wins including a ninth-round knockout of unbeaten Blair Cobbs on March 19 in Los Angeles.
In his most recent start, Rocha outpointed Jesus Antonio Perez over ten rounds last October 29 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. The feat extended his win streak to five in a row since a narrow twelve-round defeat to Rashidi Ellis in October 2020.
Young (24-2, 8KOs) has mostly fought out of his Atlantic City hometown but traveled west for the biggest win of his career. It came on a Golden Boy-promoted show, as the streaking bubble contender scored a third-round knockout of former WBO junior middleweight titlist Sadam Ali on the May 2019 Canelo Alvarez-Daniel Jacobs undercard in Las Vegas.
The victory was as much of a curse as it was a career rival. The combination of the pandemic and his high-risk, low-reward profile left Young out of the ring for more than two years, as he’s fought just three times since beating Ali. He enters this fight following an eight round points win over Jose Zaragoza last October 29 in Atlantic City.

I don't blame him. Theyve been asking him about Canelo NONSTOP for the entire lead up to this event. Hes gotta be sick of it by now.

Canelo's finished. He aint fighting anyone with a pulse for the rest of his career anyway. Might as well salvage whats left of ur career nd try and mix it up with the Charlos, Benevidez's Morrell's Plants etc

Between Andrade and Canelo, there's only one person with a history of ducking high level competition... and it ain't Canelo :sas1:

Canelo has fought...

a 40 year old Floyd who he had a massive size advantageover AND LOST EVERY ROUND
Tested positive for steroids (clenbuterol to be exact) before fighting GGG
a washed Mosley at the end of his career
a washed Cotto at the end of his career
Lara... and got his azz whipped
Bivol whom he was HEAVILY favored to defeat and yet LOST EVERY ROUND
A washed broken down Kovalev at the end of his career
... to name a few. Now how bout you give me some of the best names on Andrade's resume :sas1:

Fixed.:ehh:

You see, Andrade isnt a Caucasian ginger hypejob who had a intercontinental machine behind him working overtime to force him to become the "face of boxing" since he was a teen. Not all fighters have the luxury to just make any fight they want their whole career sadly. Andrade has made poor decisions in his own right but at the end of the day he's a threat---top guys aren't in a hurry to fight him which further compounds his probs.

Neither fighter is without their issues when it comes to this shyt. but Canelo wouldnt be caught DEAD calling out a top level opponent in their prime. To say HE has no history of avoiding elite competition is a joke.
