Super 6 was great...I loved it...the round Robin was the biggest knock against it. Because nikkas got knocked out of it or left prematurely. 168 has never been the same since that tournament.I always say the super 6 was one of the best things that ever happened to boxing. It often gets overlooked, because fans were too impatient, They said it took too long to declare a winner. I’m like so what? Ward won and then what happened? Nothing boxing goes back to the usual handpick bull shyt.
That logic never made sense to me. Getting solid matchmaking was always more important then the winner IMO.
It’s like y’all really prefer the usual marinating shyt over a round robin tournament?
If I put together a super six of Haney, Teo, Ryan, Tank, Shakur, & Loma, who gives a fukk how long it takes to declare a winner? Just enjoy the fights back to back & even if there’s a scenario where a guy drops out, and a backup has to come in, it’s fine. It’s still better then the shyt we are getting now.
I mean they tried to keep it going with the World Boxing Super Series, but politics gets in the way of being able to do it on a regular basis. I've been said the 4 sanctioning bodies aren't the problem, I like the idea actually it's the promoters who fukk everything up.I always say the super 6 was one of the best things that ever happened to boxing. The world boxing super series got it down though.
yeah but i dont think super 6 produced consistent good fights like that in its format though brehThe round robin is the best thing about it.
If the guys I mentioned were set up to fight each other the next 3 years, what’s the problem? Even if guys were to drop out it’s still better then what we normally get, correct?
World boxing series is just single elimination. Sure it’s fine if you’re looking to crown the best guy. I’m more interested in consistently good fights. Round robin is preferred to get the best fights for a longer duration.

the only classic fight it produced was froch vs kessler 1

Facts
the Bantam Tourney Showtime did was better, cuz damn near every fight was good between Perez, Vic, Mares, Agbeko, etc...
it's just that they some lil nikkas with smaller names so it gets forgotten.
It eliminated the round robin and points shyt that made super 6 convoluted by saying if you lost you're in a consolation fight plus it was 4 so you can do it with that number much easier. And yes it produced some damn good fights without it being drawn out.Facts
