The Ring Gang podcast was on point again this week.
I agree with the DAZN segment and lack of consistency with how they promote.
Here’s an example. Matchroom stepped it up and created this mini segment for Kyoguchi, great. Amazing.
However, I don’t understand why DAZN, who is airing the fight, can’t do a simple reposting on their own youtube which has a much bigger following. Or even retweet the Matchroom video tweets of this, or post the segment on their youtube. Not a peep on their youtube channel. It’s like DAZN is in competition with the promoters that they are aligned with or something. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. They haven’t posted a thing about it on their own youtube.
I’m not saying this video would get hundreds of thousands of views, but if they actually reposted it on the DAZN youtube, IG and Twitter, I will guarantee it would get more views than the sad 1.4K it currently has. I legit feel for a guy like Kyoguchi who is just trying to build his name a bit in the west. He deserves more than 1400 views on a clip like this. It’s almost like Matchroom was like “yeah yeah we’ll make you into a star in the west and record this segment for you”..:and then just left it on their page.
DAZN, you’re supposed to maximize your outreach, especially when it costs you 0 and the work is already done. They literally just have to post it. Marketing and promo 101. Fire their promotional team ASAP. At this point they’re not even trying.
