Damn. I know he got a ton of shine on FOX cards over the last 2 years, but he’a still an unknown for non hardcores. Casuals will go into this thinking it’s an easy fight for Benavidez. Reality is this is pretty close to a 50/50. In a 50/50 scenario you want both guys to be somewhat known especially if they’re young and both have superstar potential.

This is premature IMO. Great fight, but premature. Give the man a bit of a push first. I rank Morrell as high as any fighter under 25. No ceiling plus he’a already doing interviews in English so he has star potential as well (talks like Yoel Romero).

At worst he will make Benavidez look bad. At best he wins. It’s sort of a lose lose unless you give Morrell some shine before the fight.

Let’s get Benavidez/Plant out of the way at least.
