Damn. I know he got a ton of shine on FOX cards over the last 2 years, but he’a still an unknown for non hardcores. Casuals will go into this thinking it’s an easy fight for Benavidez. Reality is this is pretty close to a 50/50. In a 50/50 scenario you want both guys to be somewhat known especially if they’re young and both have superstar potential.
This is premature IMO. Great fight, but premature. Give the man a bit of a push first. I rank Morrell as high as any fighter under 25. No ceiling plus he’a already doing interviews in English so he has star potential as well (talks like Yoel Romero).
At worst he will make Benavidez look bad. At best he wins. It’s sort of a lose lose unless you give Morrell some shine before the fight.
Let’s get Benavidez/Plant out of the way at least.

If it was a dazn fight, none of this rant would existi dont even know if you call it a crossroads fight...,the 2 posterchilds for boxing fukkery.
one lost his prime because of hand problems, DWIs and other car related fukkery,, and eating candy
the other relatively injury free but mental illness, out of the ring fukkery, eating candy all in abundance
broner for all his faults stays somewhat defensively responsible even though his workrate is trash, figueroa has power in those broken hands but has shumenov in hopkins fight level of defense
at best one will show an inkling of what they were in their primes, at worst we get a ghost vs victor ortiz type fight

If you are excited about Broner vs Figueroa in 2022 where both guys haven't won a fight worth a damn in at least 5 years, you must not like today's boxing too much
That loading up shyt is also why Canelo gasses so easily when someone actually stands up to him.
You shouldn't have to throw hard/load up to punch hard.
