And it's a moot point whether he will fight on FOX or DAZN. He significantly grew his follower base even from the GGG fights to now while mostly "fighting on an app", atp there's pretty much nothing that Charlo, Benavidez, and a FOX coverage would add to Canelo's fame, nobody who would buy those fights would know his opponents but not him.

Same with Bivol and GGG on DAZN. It's about the money, simple as that but they are drawing this the fukk out, really should decide on something already cause none of these other dudes will make fights either until then.

I'd only accept this if go back and see a consistent energy towards the tank AND Haney fights plus being onboard for him to face lil bhop before he had to bow out...if i go back and see that then hey you like watching a faded gamboa fight who hasn't been in a good fight since nearly losing to Jason Sosa...one person I quoted is not consistent in that lol

If you're ok with a gamboa fight in 2022 who hasn't won a fight in almost 2.5 years, do better as a boxing fan :heh:

What’s the difference between Ndam N Gamboa??

Ndam was on PPV fighting to be a Mando in 2022 :dead:N was a Fade :ohlawd:

I’ll be waiting for you to Juelz yourself outta this here

Don't get me wrong I like Canelo and he does almost all the work in these divisions he's in, 175 is the exceptions where dudes more or less fight each other but yeah, I hope they stop with the baiting and just announce something let that be Charlo or Bivol

.

Yea I'm wondering how people are quantifying the demand for these fights to the point they argue one fight has more demand than another. Based off what exactly? messageboard comments?
As you alluded to, Canelo is bringing like 90% of the audience in any of these fights (if not more). At least with the GGG rubbermatch we have an example of million+ buys to base demand off and the media constantly talking about it, the other 3 fights not so much.

Idk that at this point how big a GGG fight would be, people like big rivalries though but that might be the least interesting fight if GGG is on the slide, we don't know... Anyway I don't think that it gives or takes in terms of Canelo's name which route he takes.

Max Kellerman was just on espn saying the only thing holding up the DAZN deal is GGG not signing it yet :lupe:
ain't even consider the fact the other fighters might be negotiating their own portions of a deal further holding shyt up

I suppose there is a lack of concrete evidence. A lot of assuming and inferences to make vague predictions.

In my eyes:

The Charlo and Benavidez fights are promotional lay ups. Canelo just did 800k against your barber's favorite cac, who had no PPV history beforehand. I think Canelo could break a million facing off against Charlo and Benavidez, both being significantly more well known and hyped up than Plant.

It's weird to type out, but the racial aspect has to be factored in here. Matching Saul up with an African American fighter and a Mexican American fighter is going to drive the buy rate.

Bivol has none of the upside Golovkin once did. No HBO marketing, no P4P rank, no exciting offensive style, no goofy Borat impersonation. He's clearly a much tougher sell.

people keep saying this ignoring that an unplanned viral moment happened during the build up of the fight. that had ppl all over social media sharing and clowning the clip of Plant. before the press conference smack the hype for the fight was kind of ho hum. iono maybe people count that as being part of the marketing regardless but i see it more as a unique thing that helped the fight

I do think a mexican vs mexican match has it's own built in hype factor though. I'm honestly not sure about Charlo appeal, even in the black community. granted I'm in the NE and not Texas/South but no black casuals I know give a damn about Charlo. He's not a Tank or Broner type figure (yet at least).
I think the hype for the fight is greatest for GGG and Benavidez with Bivol and Charlo kind of being fights that Canelo would mainly be carrying entirely as the A side
