Even going lightly in sparring you liable to hurt each other. Taking up boxing this year was eye opening, pro nikkas to us are basically how I imagine it felt for the z fighters to go against vegeta n em the first time
My trainer just like 5-0 as a pro but that nikka is basically unhittable for me and he barely be trying 
He be killing me on drills n technique but its working because when I started sparring the rest of the gym was shocked cuz I'm technically sound and aint gas till the 3rd and fourth round. nikka drilled "hands up" at all times to me so I avoid a lot of damage just with that. 30 years of fighting games got my reflexes on 10 too
