Any of u guys listen to porters podcast? Looks like he’s taking it serious
Yeah, I think it's decent. The hosts are all likeable enough, but I don't find their opinions to be very compelling -- their recap of weekly boxing news and fight cards feel
standard, in that they don't really express anything particularly different from whatever the prevalent current thought is. I'm not asking for them to drop hot takes the whole show, but it would be nice if their opinions didn't feel so
predictable.
I enjoy how Shawn will sometimes tell stories that draw not only from his experiences as a professional, but as an amateur as well. For example, on the most recent episode, he spoke about facing Arias years ago as an amateur, and it adds welcomed depth to the Hurd Arias discussion.
People hate Mannix, but I still got that podcast as #1 just because he does interview better guests generally, and I feel like he does a good job of covering boxing more thoroughly. The journalists he invites are always much more nuanced in their discussion of boxing over Shawn's co-hosts, too.
Porter Way is my #2 at the moment.
Will have to give Bernstein's podcast a listen as well.
Not a huge fan of Pug and Copp's show, but i'll fukking throw on any boxing podcast at this point.
