Good on Lampley for signing to a shady organization that will probably crash and burn in like 2 years and doesn't have any visible plan in regards of boxing besides burning tons of money on freak show events and purse bid fights.
I never really fukked with Lamps anyway so w/e... he could be just as biased as the guys currently calling the fights just with a better voice for calling the fights.
So no HBO nostalgia from me here. But I came to like the sport when HBO boxing was in its last 5-10 years, maybe that also explains it. I miss their production quality and their professional shoulder programming, only Showtime competes with that. Their announcing team though? Not so much.
shyt id rather listen to lampley than listen to len-nox lewis and joe goossen miss the action because they were rambling on some stupid shyt or mispronounce words..perpetually bad commentary only second to grisham and mannix
the question is who will be working that booth with him?
I'd rather have that Beterbiev unification, thank you.
What Jacobs wants at 175 anyway. Dude been fighting like a C level fighter since he moved up to 168. Idk if it's the lack of hunger or his age showing but going even further up to fight Smith doesn't seem like a great idea. Vlasov gave Smith all he could handle but Vlasov has been a cruiserweight before, works a lot and active as fukk. Jacobs might very well be done by Smith like Hart and Alvarez. Last time Jacobs struggled with Rosado who's been around as a journeyman/fringe contender forever.
Beterbiev could fight Bivol until then. Probably won't happen cause it'd make too much sense but heyPushing a Smith Jacobs fight to the fall means we wouldn't get a unification with Beterbiev until next year, which sucks.
I do think that Smith Jacobs would sell pretty well in NYC, plus Smith gets to make a title defense while letting Beterbiev age a bit more.
I'm taking Smith in that fight. As crude as his skills are, i do not see Jacobs standing up to Joe's power, or being elusive enough to avoid it.
