Algeri says his heart is with Pacquiao but if he was putting money down he'd bet Spence. Also says Manny has more one punch power and better defense but Spence's defense is underrated.
I think spence will show Manny a lot of respect early on. Manny still has enough power to hurt anybody and we've seen Spence stunned before. But Spence's physical strength is gonna get tougher for Manny as the fight goes on. This is gonna be a grueling fight for both guys. Could see it ending in KO either way.
I agree, it's a very physical fight for a 42 year old to take on.
Early going, Spence is going to pump that jab as he adjusts to Manny's foot speed. This is not going to be like the Mikey fight, where Spence only needs to take a step back to find himself out of danger. Manny is going to pepper the slower Spence early.
Fight changes pace as Manny tires and begins to find himself on the ropes more often, Spence hitting arms as much as he does the head or body. Manny's flurries coming sporadically throughout each round, we'll see how strong Spence's defense as he comes forward in the second half of the fight.
Manny has enough experience to
survive. I know he hasn't had a fight beat out of him, but at 42, you never know. Maybe his body will finally tell him "
enough!" and he'll stop trying to win.
If Spence can nab some early rounds, I could really see a one sided decision. Manny needs to bank those.
Curious to see how Manny deals with Errol's work rate and physicality in the later rounds. He ate heavy shots from Thurman, but I imagine it's going to be much more difficult for an older Pac to have to deal with the much more persistent pressure and punch output that Spence will presumably bring.
