Personally, I don't see a definitive victory for either fighter, so I'm more in line with the official decision being a draw. I certainly don't agree with the opinion that this was a robbery.

I don't knock Golovkin for not being a 'virtuoso' in the first fight. My gripe is that his offensive output, as a whole, rarely culminated in clear rounds for G. His aggression in the first fight is highly lauded, but his high punch output was sustained almost entirely by a jab, and he had to walk through a ton of punches just to land it.

Mind you, this is a fight where we saw Canelo clearly gas out, and also a fight where Golovkin often found Canelo on the ropes, yet he practically never capitalized on it. No body work, pumping a jab only to let Canelo step around him.

Even in the rounds where I thought Golovkin won clearly, like round 9, he lets Canelo come back with a great counter, and he responds with more jabbing.

Again, being that his offensive performance gets praised, it just wasn't that spectacular of a showing. Both 1 and 2 were great fights, but I don't see robbery by any stretch. That Lederman card was atrocious.
thats a good summary.
