Bud vs Ortiz is not a bad fight, don't think that Ortiz beats Bud but would be better than most of his 147 opponents.
What I'd really like to see before Ortiz and Ennis fight for titles is them fighting each other like officially making it clear who's the best prospect/young contender at 147 and the winner goes on to fight for titles while the loser learns from the loss and comes again.
I'm ok with them fighting for titles next too but ideally they would fight each other first

imagine the best PBC welterweight fight of last year was from their b level and the unified champion there cant even make a fight with his own more legendary stablemate for his belt and his biggest fight now is an upgraded champ who nearly lost to thomas dulorme in his present form

It’s one of the best divisions, which is why it’s the way it is.

The “lesser” divisions are more eager to unify because it’s the best option for all parties involved.
