Jose Ramirez and Viktor Postol have remained disciplined through the holiday season.
The pair of junior welterweights were both in compliance of the 30-day weight safety check as imposed by the World Boxing Council (WBC) ahead of their February 2 title fight at Mission Hills Haikou in Haikou, China. Participants for any WBC-sanctioned fight cannot weigh heavier than 10% above the contracted limit 30 days out from fight night. In this case, both boxers were required to weigh 154 pounds or less for their 140-pound title fight.
Ramirez (25-0, 17KOs) checked in just under the mark at 153 pounds. Ukraine’s Postol came in at a fit and trim 146.2 pounds, which is actually below the 14-day weight check where both will be required to weigh no more than 5% above the limit or 147 pounds.
jose it seems is big as hell for 140..postol might actually be a legit 140 fighter
