Jose Ramirez and Viktor Postol have remained disciplined through the holiday season.

The pair of junior welterweights were both in compliance of the 30-day weight safety check as imposed by the World Boxing Council (WBC) ahead of their February 2 title fight at Mission Hills Haikou in Haikou, China. Participants for any WBC-sanctioned fight cannot weigh heavier than 10% above the contracted limit 30 days out from fight night. In this case, both boxers were required to weigh 154 pounds or less for their 140-pound title fight.

Ramirez (25-0, 17KOs) checked in just under the mark at 153 pounds. Ukraine’s Postol came in at a fit and trim 146.2 pounds, which is actually below the 14-day weight check where both will be required to weigh no more than 5% above the limit or 147 pounds.

jose it seems is big as hell for 140..postol might actually be a legit 140 fighter :heh:

oh shyt, this taping/footage was rare, only sound collector's had it.

what a depressing sight man.

i have a jerry quarry book somewhere in my tablet..that fight was the straw that broke the camel's back..there was something i read where him and tex cobb took neurological exams in the early 80s..tex cobb passed his with flying colors while quarry showed signs of damage even though outwardly he looked and sounded normal...then quarry had 2 fights in the 80s..one of them he took a bad bloody beating and got gifted a win..there was a lot of depressing info in that jerry quarry book

Postol is a wiry mfer but he isn't that big, Ramirez is a big 140er, looks bigger than most of his opponents, if not in height then in frame. Taylor is similarly big for 140.
Will be interesting to watch how up and coming contenders like Matias or Ergashev gonna do with the current crop of the division. Also we need that Taylor vs Ramirez unification.

“I wouldn’t mind beating up Dominic Breazeale for all the shyt he’s been talking,” Kownacki said. “After the Wilder knockout I thought he would learn to be humble. Guess some cats never learn. I heard Christian Hammer’s name being mentioned. Sam Jones, the manager of Joe Joyce, keeps bringing up my name.”

Adam Kownacki names possible opponents for March 7 return fight

The business prevented Jermall Charlo from getting Canelo when he was that mandatory for years. They only offer the guys that are at the bottom of their roster in terms of draw to face PBC guys at the top. WTF is that? Let Andrade fight on the PBC if thats the case. He doesn't need to sign with them to get a fight, all of their guys are free agents. Wouldn't it be better for him to fight on FOX where the Charlos are doing 2 Million views to build him up? Isn't that better for the sport if more people can see the fight. Hearns whole thing a year ago was that DAZN had all the fighters at 160 and Andrade can't get at fight with any of them? GGG, Saunders, Canelo, Jacobs, Mungia. They got all those names over there and they calling for Charlo? If they can't secure him a big fight on their own platform then let him fight on the PBC. They have Charlo, Hurd, Drevenchenko, Eubanks, and Lara (That fight is more realistic).
Hearn had Khan signed to him and still couldn't get him to fight Brook.

Both sides are doing what benefits their business. the WBC fukked the game up and prevented Canelo vs Charlo (He would have went for that fight, already said it plenty of times), Lomo vs Haney, etc.
Hearn mentioned how if pbc counters the offer dazn offered charlo they let andrade fight on fox.

People call canelo aduck for telling charlo to get his numbers up before getting a title shot. But charlo who doesnt have the same accolades does it to andrade who are basically in the same league. Cant have it bothways

Granted i want to see caneo v charlo and andrade. Probablygonna have to happen at 168 tho

Crawford calling these dudes out and exposing how it ain't no hurdles on his end :manny:
Bob letting anybody fight anybody far as I can tell, somehow it's 101 "other side of the street" excuses for Crawford.

Will Spence even be 100 percent to fight Crawford this year?
Crawford - Porter would be a good scrap as a replacement.
