WBC carries the most prestige imo, but some of the moves they made this year has been laughable..
“ Champion in Recess”

yeah i dont know what the fukk they are doing with that lightweight belt

they put the belt up for grabs between lomachenko and campbell when mikey gives it up
lomachenko wins said belt
then lomachenko politics for that stupid franchise status because he is juelzing about facing haney
haney wins the interim belt beforehand and later is upgraded to full champion
haney has an injury so instead of calling an interim so an eventual haney vs campbell-fortuna fight could happen for the belt, haney is a champ in recess

a whole bunch of wtf shyt? :heh:

The N.O
he had mandatories...the bane of being a unified champ

he either faces usyk and gives up the ibf or faces pulev and gives up the wbo UNLESS an exemption is granted..pulev wants that fight..im sure usyk is prolly more agreeable to holding shyt off
shyt is hearns greedy ass doing imo the powers that be don't want a unified belt, I see why the top 3 are talking about they gone be done soon

see im for unification so whatever a fighter/promoter does to keep the belts from being splintered im for it unless they are flat out not defending them

had ruiz retained, he would be going through the same thing

But you can see the usyk push is unbelievable
unfortunately its in the rules - usyk unified the CW titles..so the WBO has some shyt in place where a champion could go up a weight class and be the mandatory challenger for that belt

what promoter is not going to push a fighter towards the heavyweight title lol

Vergil Ortiz (148) Over Limit, Two Hours To Make Weight
By Jake Donovan

Published On Thu Dec 12, 2019, 05:34 PM EST

Vergil Ortiz Jr. looks to end 2019 on a high note, but will have two hours to make it a truly unblemished run heading into his next fight.

The unbeaten welterweight weighed in heavy for his scheduled 12-round crossroads bout versus Brad Solomon, which—assuming the bout moves forward—takes place Friday evening live on DAZN from Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

Ortiz (14-0, 14KOs) checked in at 148 pounds, and will have two hours to make the 147-pound divisional limit or else will be subject to a fine. Solomon got it right on the first try, hitting the scales at a fighting fit 146.8 pounds for his first ring appearance since last April.

Providing he make weight, Ortiz Jr. will seek his fourth win in as many fights on the year. The fierce-hitting Texas native enters on the heels of a 6th round knockout of former title challenger Antonio Orozco this past August in his hometown of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Alberto Machado looks for a fresh start following back-to-back losses, as the former 130-poiund titlist from makes his lightweight debut. The fighting pride of San Juan, Puerto Rico had to come back after the conclusion of the official weigh-in to hit the divisional mark, a quick bathroom break helping hit 135 on the nose after initially weighing 135.2 pounds. He will face Colombia’s Luis Porozo, who weighed 134 pounds.

Machado returns to the very venue responsible for his two losses, both coming at the hands of Andrew Cancio, the first of which ended his 130-pound title reign.

Opening the livestream, unbeaten welterweight prospect Alexis Rocha takes on Mexico’s Roberto Valenzuela Jr. in a scheduled 10-round contest. Both boxers were just under the 147-pound limit; Rocha—a 22-year old southpaw from Santa Ana, California—weighed 146.6 pounds; Valenzuela (17-1, 16KOs) weighed 146.8 pounds.

forgot about this card...well something to watch friday night :heh:
