I hear you, but what you're saying is false.. 1st he's not Canelo's mandatory anymore. Y’all can’t keep using this as an excuse. 2nd.. Canelo doesn't hold enough belts for the rest of the division to be stagnant.. It wasn't the case at 154 either. Them nikkas just ain’t trying to fight each other for real. The fact that Andrade and Charlo been in the same division for over a decade and ain’t fought each other is proof of this. If Canelo ain’t drop the WBA yet that shouldn’t stop the other guys from fighting each other. There’s 3 other belts

You got it smh Andrade was the one who ducked the smoke, but they had a fight signed that Andrade pulled out.
Andrade pulls out of Charlo fight over purse

Also at 154 he fought
K-9 a two champ
Mando
Trout
J Rock
It wasn’t like he was fighting push overs or bums.

He was and still is his Mandatory, again I’m
Not killing Canelo By saying he’s holding up the division I’m just saying if he dropped his belts then it would instantly get popping. Not all his fault at all, GGG is to blame and the other guys are too
Do you see Canelo dropping back to 160 after going up to 175 against Kov?

Andrade’s resume is lacking, but stylistically and with his size he’s a matchup problem for anyone in The Middleweight Division.

Charlo's best win is J-Rock but it's disappointing what he's doing recently.
He has no promoter, he is not legally tied to anywhere, yet he refuses to go to DAZN to fight the actual good fighters of the division.
Crawford gets shytted on here every day because he's with TR and not PBC while being at 147 but at least we know he's tied by a contract and that he is one of the premier names of his stable. Neither of those is true to Charlo he could easily just go and fight these dudes if he wanted to.

MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, NV - Earlier today BoxingScene.com's Keith Idec confirmed that promoters for Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev were in the process of finalizing a deal for their November 2nd fight in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

As reported by Idec, they worked out the most significant remaining contractual issue Wednesday, a fact first reported by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix. An official announcement will be made soon to confirm a 12-round, 175-pound title fight DAZN will stream live in the United States.

The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger first reported Sunday that the deal was nearing completion. The aforementioned lingering issue required three more days of negotiations to settle, but there’s nothing now expected to prevent them from moving forward with the Alvarez-Kovalev fight.

It was also reported that Kovalev received a 3 fight deal as part of the agreement to face Alvarez.

BoxingScene.com spoke to Bob Arum after the Tyson Fury-Otto Wallin press conference and the Top Rank CEO clarified that the 3 fight contract will only be valid if Kovalev loses to Alvarez.

"Well that is not correct," said Arum when asked about the report. "What is correct is that we will wait for the announcement for the fight but Kovalev, if he loses to Canelo, he will have two come back fights (on DAZN) but if he wins he goes back to Top Rank and ESPN."

As far as the fight itself he admits that it will be a tough fight for Kovalev, who he co-promotes with Main Events. Even though Kovalev is a big light heavyweight and Canelo is a natural middleweight, the Russian has shown vulnerability to a good body attack.

"Well Canelo Alvarez is a tough opponent for Kovalev because even though Kovalev is so much bigger and has that great left jab, Kovalev doesn't take it that well to the body. Andre Ward showed that. Yarde showed that. The one thing Canelo has as his great weapon is his body punching so we'll have to see - but that is a world class fight, Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev," Arum told BoxingScene.com.

interesting caveat...kovalev wins..hes back to TR..but if he loses he owes DAZN 2 more fights

Fury: With No Canelo, I Stepped Up For The Mexican People!
By Chris McKenna

Tyson Fury will stick two fingers up at Donald Trump by punching holes in two Walls this weekend.

The Gypsy King is facing unbeaten but little-known Swede Otto Wallin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

This is a famous fighting weekend to coincide with Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations.

And Fury has shown his sympathy for those from the Central American country on either side of the US border suffering because the American President is putting up a wall to tighten up immigration.

“Isn’t it a great thing that a total outsider from this country is showing so much love, passion and respect for the Mexican people,” said the Manchester-born Traveller.

"At the minute they are being oppressed by the people here – building a wall, chucking ‘em all out and treating them terrible.

“Every Mexican person I’ve met has shown love, respect and honour. They’re God fearing people.

“I don’t know what is going on but it is nice to see a total stranger, heavyweight champion of the world, coming here and respecting people and paying homage to their beliefs and special days.

“I know what it is like to be on the outside. I’ve grown up around it, I’ve been brought up around it.”

The Gypsy King came out for his open workout at the MGM Grand hotel on Tuesday wearing a Mexican wrestling mask as traditional Latin music blasted out .

Boxing on Mexican Independence weekend has become a big tradition in the sport dating back to when legend Julio Cesar Chavez kick fought Pernell Whitaker on the date in 1993.

Oscar De La Hoya then took over before American Floyd Mayweather Jnr gate crashed the weekend date and made it his own in the fight capital of the world as it helped boost his gate receipts and pay-per-view numbers.

Since Mayweather’s retirement, Mexican Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has returned it to a more traditional affair but he opted out of a September 14 date at the T-Mobile this year after delays in finding an opponent.

Fury’s promoters Top Rank swooped to take the venue and, although it is a British fighter facing a Swede, they’re hoping to attract big crowds this weekend.

“I’ve got the Mexican shorts, the Mexican gloves, the Mexican mask, the Mexican music, the Mexican flag. I don’t know how much more respect I can show,” said Fury.

“It is quite a list of fighters to box on this date.

“The funny fact of it was Canelo was supposed to box on this weekend here in Vegas but for whatever reason he decided not to but I stepped up for the Mexican people.

“I brought the fight forward four weeks in order to do this. Good job I stayed fit. I am in shape and always ready.

“It was supposed to be in New York in October but I decided to bring it forward and box on a special date.

"This is Fury’s second fight in Las Vegas after he beat up Tom Schwarz in two rounds at the MGM Grand Garden Arena back in June.

There won’t be anywhere near the same clamour for tickets this weekend as there would have been if Alvarez was fighting but Fury’s face is still all over the famous Strip.

Promoters Top Rank continue to try to raise his profile on this side of the Atlantic ahead of next year’s rematch with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

“It is the second fight back to back and my face is as popular now as David Copperfield’s is on the side of the MGM,” added Fury.

Copperfield is the world-famous magician but this week Fury will no doubt have a few tricks up his sleeve to entertain the fans.

and :mjlol: at the comment someone left about this

damn this sounds like another GGG-Abel situation

Daniel Jacobs and Andre Rozier at Odds Over Money
By Thomas Hauser

Published On Thu Sep 12, 2019, 12:34 PM EDT

By Thomas Hauser

Trainer Andre Rozier raised a few eyebrows while sitting with a small group of reporters prior to the August 22 kick-off press conference for the upcoming fight between Gennady Golovkin and Sergey Derevyanchenko at Madison Square Garden.

Rozier has worked with Daniel Jacobs throughout Jacobs's ring career and became Jacobs's lead trainer after the death of Victor Roundtree in 2013. He also trains Derevyanchenko. When his two charges met in the ring last October, Rozier opted to work with Jacobs who won a narrow split decision. Asked at the time about the situation, Derevyanchenko told the media, "I said to him, ‘Andre, I understand. You worked with Daniel since he was a kid.’ If I’m Andre, I do the same thing.”

Fast forward to August 22. Rozier was asked if the outcome of Jacobs-Derevyanchenko might have been different if he'd been working Sergey's corner.

"If I was with Sergey against Daniel," Rozier answered, "we would have won that fight because I was in the corner.”

That seemed uncharacteristically self-aggrandizing for Rozier and a bit disloyal to Jacobs. But there's a back story.

Rozier has trained Jacobs for years without a written contract. As Daniel's purses got bigger, Andre, by mutual agreement, was paid less than the standard ten-percent trainer's fee.

It's not unusual for a fighter to renegotiate his trainer's share of the purse when the purse numbers become stratospheric. Earlier this year, Gennady Golovkin did just that with trainer Abel Sanchez. Sanchez chose to not accept the adjustment that was offered and the two men parted ways.

In the past between Jacobs and Rozier, the number was usually worked out in advance of fights and had been satisfactory to both men. Here it should be noted that, since becoming Daniel's head trainer, Rozier has always worked with an assistant who is also compensated.

On May 4 of this year, Jacobs lost a unanimous decision to Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas. His purse for that fight was in excess of $10 million minus a $1 million penalty for coming in 3.6 pounds over the allowable limit at the fight-day weigh-in. After the fight, Rozier was presented with a check that was substantially less than he expected and might have reasonably expected.

It's not a cut-and-dried situation. In recent years, Rozier has been successful in and out of the ring. This success has led to increasing demands on his time, leaving some to question whether Danny received his trainer's full attention in the days leading up to Canelo-Jacobs which was the most important fight of Daniel's life.

Right now, there are hard feelings. But the two sides are in discussions through an intermediary. Ideally, they'll work things out and move forward as a team in the future.
