From a promoter's POV it's understandable why he pushed Ryan Garcia... :manny: I think if he switches it only gonna be as a punishment to Garcia for his diva shyt
At this stage Ortiz is the better guy though and maybe stays being the better guy, depends on how they can improve Garcia too.
No problem with promoting Garcia, it only made sense to with how his social media was popping and that's literally their job. He could have promoted both tho, all those bum ass ESPN shows Golden Boy had, how many times did we see Ortiz getting pushed in the same manner? Ortiz was clearly better and is also a skilled action fighter, shouldn't have taken Golden Boy so long to get the machine behind him.

Vergil Ortiz: I Don't Like The Way I Did in The Fight, I'll Improve
Vergil Ortiz: I Don't Like The Way I Did in The Fight, I'll Improve

Knockout artist Vergil Ortiz Jr. (14-0, 14 KOs) defeated Antonio "Relentless" Orozco (28-2, 17 KOs) in the sixth round of their 12-round fight for the WBA Gold Welterweight Title.

The event took place on Saturday, Aug. 10 at The Theatre at Grand Prairie in Texas and was streamed live on DAZN.

Ortiz stopped Orozco at 2:16 of the aforementioned round.

"I'm going to be honest. I don't like the way I did in the fight," said Ortiz.

"I don't even know how many rounds we went; that's how into the fight I was, but the first three, four rounds, I could have done way better. I definitely have a long way as a boxer to reach that world champion status. But we're going to keep making those improvements, and we're going to learn from this fight. I've been getting all these KOs.

"I've been saying that they haven't been getting in my head, but as you can see in that first round, I got a little excited. Maybe I could have ended it, maybe not, but I had to force myself to slow down, and I'm just going to learn from this fight.

"Everyone knows that Grand Prairie is the grandest of all the cities in the world. We have the best people, the best work ethic, and the best kids that are going to grow up to be something one day. And I just want to set an example for each and every one of you guys, whether you're kids, teenagers, or adults. You can do it if you put your mind to it."

In the co-main event Joshua "The Professor" Franco (15-1-2, 7 KOs) of San Antonio, Texas and Oscar "El Jaguar" Negrete (18-2-2, 7 KOs) of Paramount, Calif. fought to a split draw in a 10-round battle of non-stop action for the NABF and WBA International Bantamweight Titles. The scores consisted of 96-94 for Franco, 96-94 for Negrete and one score of 95-95.

I like how he’s talking, he’s not getting high off his win even though he just stopped a dude who went full with a current unified champ not long ago. This mentality is an important key to be successful longterm.

David Benavidez Warns Dirrell: I'll Show I'm The Best at 168!

David Benavidez Warns Dirrell: I'll Show I'm The Best at 168!

On September 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, the super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs), will face undefeated Mexican former world champion, David Benavidez (21-0, 18 knockouts).

Dirrell returns from reclaiming the super middleweight title by defeating Turkish Avni Yildirim by a technical decision in Minnesota.

Anthony has lost only once since becoming a professional 14 years ago. Back then…David Benavidez was only 8 years old.

Benavidez now aged twenty two, says he will hand Dirrell his career second loss, when they meet in September.

“This is a fight I really want to be in. Fans have been waiting to see me recover my title. Anthony Dirrell is a tough and complicated fighter, but this will bring out the very best in me," Benavidez said.

“I will go in there and recover what is mine. I`s so very motivated, very hungry, and I will recover my crown. Dirrell is a great fighter. I used to see him when I was 12 years old. So I’ve been watching him for a long time. And I feel I have the youth plus the size to defeat him. I still feel hungry. I’m definitely going to show the fans that I am the best fighter in this division."

By beating Anthony Dirrell? Yildirim gave him all he could handle
