At some point things will normalize. People assume they’re being taught the correct way because they simply go to an MMA school that teaches a legit Martial Art (boxing, muay thai, kickboxing, BJJ etc). What people still don’t grasp is that there are still levels and the gap in the quality of teaching is huge.

You can thank the UFC. I can’t stand watching most MMA fighters on mitts/striking, it’s so bad.
