he had been doing what he wanted for years...still doesn't excuse how trash it was..personal...it was either between berto or karim mayfield...shyt was going to be trash from jump..the only thing that saved that card was the whole undercard which was fire on paper and in ring

It was technically his retirement battle. I had no problem with it.

The only fight in Floyd's career that I just find unbearable is the Baldomir fight. I'm just referring to the actual fight itself. It was very hard to watch.

Hey, do y'all think Canelo is slowing down? Last night I watched a few rounds of the last fight with Jacobs on YouTube. I saw canelo really lunging in with no leg strength. I dunno man, his conditioning is making it so that he gets winded sooner each fight. He only lasted 4 fukking rounds against Golovkin the first go round. Then went 8 rounds the next fight when he was back to his regular physique. Looks like he lasted half the fight against Jacobs? But this time it's different though...like his legs looked weaker. I dunno let me watch the fight again.

Seemed to me that he beat a top MW comfortably. His conditioning has always been suspect. Now, he did turn pro at a very young age, so his prime may end earlier then one may so suspect, but I don't believe he's slowed down.

I feel like he’s in his currently in his prime right now, but he always had shyt fatigue. Even with the below average gas tank , I’d still favor him over anyone at 154 and 160. But turning Pro young and already having 50 fights with a pretty solid resume for a good amount of his recent fights it could seem that way to some optics.

I always said Canelo would be done or very out of prime by his early 30s max. Just like Barrera and Morales were since they also started fighting before 18.

Canelo is who he is. A talented guy with below average stamina that loads up on most of his shots, which causes him to fight in spurts. His defensive skills and the fact that he always gets the benefit of the doubt allows him to go into cruise control in these competitive fights without being penalized with a loss.

He also took his sweet time moving up when he should have been at 160 after the Floyd fight. Getting down to 154 and 155 etc...even at his younger age was still hard on him especially for his body type. Just like Jacobs should have moved up after the GGG fight or at least the Arias fight. Corrales took so long to move up, he had to leap frog 140 to get washed by Clottey at 147.

You better than me, cuz I can't rewatch Canelo vs Jacobs. Fight was only good for 4 rounds. I'd take the first half of Thurman vs Swift over that whole fight.

This makes sense. Still though man the way he was lunging with his legs looked different. I dunno.

i thought he was becoming more of a plodder also. i noticed it in the feilding fight. i thought it was just the weight. but his feet looked heavy to me. it happened with roy jones that, when he came down from heavyweight, his legs were gone.

I feel you breh.

I think the lunging came from Jacobs moving away a lot of times. He wouldn't engage much and would shoot lazy jabs that Canelo would counter, but due to Jacobs height and movement, it made Canelo look a lil off. He gotta reach and come forward more against a guy that was waiting for God knows what.
