Not a done deal yet but the vacant middleweight world title bout between Sergiy Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs), 32, a 2008 Olympian for Ukraine who fights out of Brooklyn, New York, and Daniel Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs), 31, likely will take place on Nov. 10 (HBO) at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, according to a source with knowledge of the plans. Promoters Eddie Hearn and Lou DiBella would have preferred to go to Madison Square Garden in New York or Barclays Center in Brooklyn but could not match arena availability with an HBO date. Two fights ago, Jacobs, who is from Brooklyn, headlined at Nassau Coliseum and outpointed Luis Arias. Derevyanchenko Jacobs will fight for one of the 160-pound belts stripped from Gennady Golovkin for failing to face mandatory challenger Derevyanchenko.
