Nice fight by Postol yesterday. Thought only the KD made the difference but Glasgow has a history of ridiculous hometown scorings.

I’ve thought Postol got less left in the tank than what he showed. He was inactive as hell and at 34 not a young guy in boxing either but he looked quite sharp. Not as sharp as he was against Matthysse or Crawford but sharp nevertheless.

Taylor is a good bodypuncher and he showed composure in this fight, he remained patient. It seemed like Postol hurt him once or twice though.
Taylor remains one if the highest rated UK prospects and with a reason but while I think he can beat Ramirez (close call) he gets stopped by Prograis who’s the best 140er now imo.
Taylor’s handlers are confident in him but if it’s true that he won’t enter the WBSS because “they want to go for the WBC” then they are not THAT confident afterall. Explaining the opting out from WBSS (which will feature the other 3 belts) with the pursuage of the WBC is a bullshyt. If they’d say they are not ready for Prograis that would be more honest even though idk how can you be not ready after beating Postol and untested guys like Baranchyk, Yigit or Ryan Martin will be in it.

But it’s not 100% maybe he enters afterall. Prograis vs Taylor would be the best fight of the division imo and Ergashev is creeping up there too

Nice but I never understood why they stop amateur fights so early after a fighter gets dropped. Had this been a pro bout and he could have continued... probably would lost anyway after the KD but still, it’s better if they let them fight it out.

Safety.

Most refs will stop a bout after a clean knockdown or getting two standing 8s in a round.

Carlos Cuadras To Resume Career in August, at Bantamweight

By Miguel Rivera

A few weeks ago, former world champion Carlos Cuadras went through one of the most difficult moments of his life.

And now, having recovered from his addictions, he hopes to resume his activity within the ring and for this, the promotional company Promociones del Pueblo is working to give him a date in August.

Cuadras, who made a stop at the Plaza de las Estrellas in Mexico City, told ESPN Deportes that he is about to travel to the Otomi Ceremonial Center to start camp and resume his lifestyle as an athlete, which includes his return to bantamweight, which was where his career began.

"I do not have the exact date nor the opponent, I only know that I am back in August, that they are looking for the location and opponent, and that [my return] will be at bantamweight. Besides that, I feel very anxious to return to the ring and show that I can once again become world champion," said Cuadras.

The 29-year-old fighter with a record of 36-3-1 and 27 knockouts, is coming back from being beaten by Puerto Rican contender McWilliams Arroyo - which took place on the undercard of SuperFly 2. For that contest, he was working with Abel Sánchez in his corner.

And after that he confessed that he had problems with addictions that led him to enter rehabilitation.

"I'm coming back with renewed energy, I want to go to the Otomí to train, I will be working with Alejandro Martínez as trainer and Miguel Mendoza as a physical trainer. I have worked with them before and I have done well, we will work hard, we have a lot to prove and now at bantamweight we will see how we feel, but we are already anxious to return in August," Cuadras said.

Promoter Osvaldo Küchle of Mexico is working out the details for the former champion's comeback, which is going to take place in Mexico.
