the final is in Jeddah.

Per boxing scene

The Russian Boxing Federation has continued their uneasy negotiations with respect to the venue and the location of the final round of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) cruiserweight tournament, which features a showdown between Russia's Murat Gassiev and Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk for the WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF world titles.

A decision must be made in a week or two, according to the Russian Boxing Federation's General Secretary Umar Kremlev.

The announcement of the final decision to reveal the Gassiev vs. Usyk venue has already been repeatedly postponed.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, the Russian Boxing Federation had applied to secure the fight on July 22 in Russia.

However, things took a turn for the worse in the negotiations when Usyk made it very clear that he would definitely not fight Gassiev in Russia.

Originally, the fight between the two world champions was finalized for May 11 in Saudi Arabia - but it was later postponed when the Ukrainian boxer injured his arm during training camp.

Because of Usyk's injury, Gassiev interrupted his training camp in the United States in mid-April and returned to Russia. On May 5, the Russian puncher returned to the United States to resume his training under the leadership of veteran coach Abel Sanchez.

The winner of the fight will establish the first four belt champion in the cruiserweight division.

"The negotiations are not easy. They are taking place directly with the leadership of the WBSS and the founders, and not with the boxers themselves. We hope that within a week or two or more [a deal can be reached]. We must make an announcement, and the boxers are still getting ready regardless of where the fight will be held. We are having some tough negotiations about the venue," said Kremlev to Vasily Konov.

Everyone says 147 is the “hottest and best” division but I think 160 got more depth and talent overall .
idk man, 160 is dope now but 147 has 2 of the top 5 best talents in the sport right now plus guys like Thurman, Porter, DSG and Peterson
also some prospects like Lejarraga or Stanionis, Kavaliuskas, Kelly

I'd say no division has as strong of a top 5-6 as 147 but some weight classes like 160 or 175 have better names overall on the 6-10 spots on their rankings

tbf 135 also has 2 of the top 5 talents in the world we still don't talk about it as one of the top divisions

but I feel like this because the Linares, Easter, Beltran follow up isn't as strong as the Thurman, Porter, DSG follow up

Yea 147 is top heavy (TCraw,Spence,Manny) but aside from that you just got a group of good but not special fighters (Thurman,Porter, DSG)

The thing is that none of the top guys are even close to fighting each other. Just the second group doing a round robin of sort. Swift the only one that say he will fight Spence without the juelz.

* And manny still top 3 at 147 I dnt care what nobody say. I can see him beating the all the other 147 guys except Craw and Spence.

I like the 160 division and even 154 division better because you can actually rank fighters because the top guys fight each other for the most part or atleast seem on course to fight.

Talent is one thing...the fights that happen are another...154 used to be described like this now they are living up to its potential....shyt Hurd vs Lara is leading FOTY...who would have thought that from 154

Exactly...cats think way too highly of the Welters of today...esp pbc welters :heh:

Exactly. Special K would be in front of Thurman if he was still at 147 since he beat Porter cleaner and was hanging with Spence.

TBH what has Porter,DSG, and Garcia accomplished at 147??? Garcia name still hold weight for beating that killer at 140...burn ither than that he been spotty

:mjlol: What might give you that indication???

Manny would be close to stopping Porter, have run time running from combos, and DSG will just get picked apart and his only hope will be one of them no look hooks.

Idk why y’all slipping on PAC. He might not be the same Pac but he still top level. Pac only problem that his intensity lulls during fights.

He's old and weak, Jeff Horn gave him all he could handle regardless of what anyone thinks about who won it

Porter is like the upgraded version of Horn, with more speed, strength, power and durability. If Horn bossed him around the ring Porter would too
he would have the most chance against Garcia because of stylistic reasons.
