Golovkin Promoter: GGG Will Move From 50-50 To Fight Canelo

“I’ve been talking to [Golden Boy Promotions President] Eric Gomez on a regular basis. I don’t want to criticize what Oscar [De La Hoya] said. It’s clearly the biggest fight for both guys and the biggest fight in boxing. It’s my job and Eric’s job to figure out a way to make the fight work. Gennady would agree to come off the 50 percent in order to make it work,”- tom loeffler

As I see team GGG wants Canelo still...
In that case I support the IBF’s decision cause that’s not a unification :manny:

I have a feeling now that it’s gonna be a sad way of going out for GGG. He pretty much made a mockery out of himself and what he stood for before in these last couple of months. If he can’t get Canelo which is still likely he gonna be beaten down by Charlo for less money and 2 belts instead of 3. Did that worth it? His clock is ticking fast. I think either he fights Canelo again or Charlo he loses now, his best chance would be against BJS out of top 5 fighters.

IBF Did Golovkin Multiple Financial Favors By Stripping Him

Keith Idec is usually reasonable but this article is just pure :cape:

trying to spin Golovkin getting stripped as a positive thing
"He has to pay one less sanctioning body" :scust: I guess we gonna use the same line every time a unified champion gets stripped

the whole article is him playing Boxing Manager with GGG's career

"Golovkin should’ve vacated the IBF title, rather than paying the IBF a $20,000 fee to request the exception he eventually received to fight Vanes Martirosyan, rather than Derevyanchenko, on May 5 in Carson, California." :gucci:

"In an interesting twist among sanctioning bodies that typically cost fighters money, the IBF inadvertently did Golovkin multiple financial favors when it surprisingly stripped him." How was that surprising? Everybody knows the IBF is the only ABC org which follows its rules and they already told Golovkin what to expect when he went to fight Vanes.

"If stripping Golovkin of its middleweight title Wednesday indeed leads him back to his rematch against Alvarez, the IBF will have done him more than one financial favor."
Acting like the IBF's decision would have anything to do with Golovkin wanting to fight Canelo. They moved toward that fight and that's why the IBF stripped him, not the other way around :snoop:

You have to be a real hardcore GGG stan to see him as the winner of this story

I don't know about hometown decision thing...parker got a crazy MD over the lesser Fury last year in the UK
true but generally still...

I won't say he will get robbed though, just that it will be a close fight where the winner can depend on where the fight is and this will be in London
