Little strange that he mentions Ali as an example of a hands down guy, I mean I see where he's coming from but I always viewed Ali as a quintessential boxer not a dude who's bouncing in and out with hands low relying on athleticism. Good video otherwise.

Ali was not a quintessential boxer. He kept his left hand below his waist and his right below the bottom of his pecs. He rarely used a high guard when not on the ropes. He'd rarely go to the body. He threw uppercuts too far away. He could never turn over a left hook correctly. He pulled straight back to get away from punches. His speed, reflexes and accuracy were so high above everyone else that he got away with his flaws until he started to slow down.

His jab was like a whip and the right cross was laser-like.

As Joyce Carol Oates once said about Ali's second career, "The good thing we learned about Ali was that he had an ATG chin. The bad thing we learned about Ali was that he had an ATG chin."

I didn't mean his technique but his overall style. He rather liked to work from the outside with jabs and straights than anything else. If you look at the video, the guy lists fighters as hands down like Loma, Josh Kelly or Burnett. What I mean Ali wasn't fighting like them dudes but rather like a classical boxer style, he is the most often used example of a boxer I think understandably so.

as for technique guys like Joe Louis, Arguello or Mikey Garcia are close to textbook imo
