I bet Porter being there and the new Thurman injury is killing them WBC heads
They'd much rather have Swift vs some jobber for their title
Porter is a solid enough name but isn´t a star in any nation, region or ethnicity but he is a very tough guy who is super awkward and physical and gives hell to anyone win or lose, no matter who he fights
so I think normally they wouldn´t want to risk that PR money what Swift could bring them (although his last viewership numbers sucked) with putting him in there with Porter of all people
but they have basically no more choice now with Thurman injured again(still).remember there were some ideas about this fight before but they didn´t end up ordering it, they ended up saying both gonna be mandatories after each other
Porter isn´t a big power player but he has just enough clout to not getting stepped over by anyone with Haymon being behind him too
I also imagine this isn´t the dream scenario for Swift.
He probably just wanted a shot at Thurman straight

It was a handpicked supposed showcase opponent, anything less than a brutal KO was unacceptable for a 140 pounder he brought up to his weight, he looked sloppy as fukk as always, unwatchable, and he was catching counters from the sloppiest slappiest shots I seen yet getting buzzed; then resorted to giving excuses for his performance.....
