Is Sean porter this eras josh clottey?

What I mean by that is that there is always the guy that can hold his own against anybody, but falls short against the top tier guys. They either fall short in close fights or just flat out don’t get the decision.

Prior to them it was Ike Quartey. He could hang with anybody but yet had losses on his record to Oscar, Vargas, etc.
If anything I think dude is prolly this era's Ricardo mayorga. Limited boxing skill with a very ugly/awkward come forward style. You never expected him to beat the top guys but you knew he would make them uncomfortable and actually make them fight. It still baffles my mind that he beat Vernon twice though.

But yea, the fact that porter can give these guys such close fights made me lose respect for this welterweight era. Porter wouldnt exist in the mosley-oscar-tito era. That's why I badly wanna see tcraw and spence vs porter. Imo, they'll dominate him like a truly great boxer should. But I have to give porter credit. Despite all his flaws, he's managed to make a name for himself and stay afloat. He was wise to move down to 147. He knew he woulda been exposed early at 154. Imagine porter trying to come in headfirst bullying a guy like charlo. Porter woulda hit a brick wall like "how come he ain't movin pops?":lupe:.....by the time his dad answered porter would be sleeping in the upper deck somewhere.

Just watch that video of charlo tellin porter he could come to 154 and make that paper. Porter started laughing nervously and tried to change the subject quickly like when your bytch accuses you of cheating.

bytch: "Why you got tinder on your phone?":usure:

Me: :russ:..........ayo I heard it's gonna rain tomorrow. Better pack a jacket just in case"

He may end up beating Thurman I can see it but not Danny Kell or Errol and I really like Spence. Those three are bad matchups.

Well I put Kell above him still but he seemed to move up to 154 permanently.

Why Danny tho:jbhmm: . I think he can just outwork danny. He has been outworked before and Porter gne work if he dnt do shyt else.

I just think the styles don’t align well. That counter punching could seriously hurt him and making porter change plans. If AB could drop him what could Danny do

Danny ain’t proved he got the stopping power at 147 like he does at 140.
AB got all world talent but just can’t put it together:yeshrug:.

But that would be a great fight and great clash of styles. But it seem like they would rather wait on Thurman tho. Who went from “feared” to a free pick :feedme:.

He’s got more power than Broner or at least equivalent plus I think he had to grow into the weight more as crazy as it sounds.

I dnt think it too many top tier guys left tho. Unless you consider Danny Garcia a top guy:ld:

The only fighter we can comfortably rate above him is Thurman and Spence.

But then again he may just beat Thurman who seems like he dnt want it like he used to.

Porter number 3 welter to me :manny:
Rate Thurman comfortably above him?

Idk breh
Based on official resume? Yes
Based on their fight against each other? No... I believe I even had itva draw

Danny Garcia had competitive fights in order to get wins over washed up Paulie Malignaggi, Robert Guerrero, & Brandon Rios...and lost clearer to Keith Thurman with an injured elbow than Shawn Porter (who has dominant wins over Adrien Broner & Paulie Malignaggi...and an extremely competitive loss to Thurman in a fight where Thurman was booed when he was announced the winner):comeon:

Yall really convincing yourselves that Danny Garcia can beat Shawn Porter??:dahell:

Since we using Keith Thurman opinion above....then lets also use his breakdown on who wins between Danny Garcia & Shawn Porter:ufdup:

Come on yall...lets get serious. That man fought em both, and if we using his 1st hand experience on Swift power, then we can also use his 1st hand experience on who beats who:forreal:

And Team Garcia knows Danny cant beat Porter....just like I do:birdman:

Bodybuilding celebrity Mike Rashid is having his pro debut tonight against Darius Taylor supposedly in a 4-round fight.

Now I don't know who Darius Taylor is but if he's not a complete scrub, he should have his way with Rashid given the preparation he's shown leading up to the fight. No speed, no power, too big, no cardio.

Another thing is he's charging way too much for this shyt to watch online

Pro Fight Debut with Mike Rashid King

I think he’s gonna pull it off. This whole thing is a platform/ stepping stone into becoming a promoter. They probably picked out the perfect bum. Darius sounds like a nygga though. Maybe he should have selected someone white.

I agree Mike looks bad. Probably gonna tire within the first minute.

After this, I want him to get back to putting out bodybuilding content.

Swift could definitely beat Porter, but Porter could also beat Swift. shyt is a true 50/50 fight where both guys weakness amplifies the other's strength.

Swift still fights behind his opponent sometimes and allows them to get going a lil too much as we saw in the Rios and Ghost fights. Porter feeds on that type of inactivity word to Berto who also had the tools to beat Porter but never took enough risks offensively.

Porter still will sometimes rush and lunge at his opponents without jabbing and will eat flush counters in order to partially land a few clubbing shots. We saw when Granados came forward with a hard jab he was able to get some breathing room to work his offense.

I think this would be an entertaining bout if it ever happens.

Stylewise it's almost as good as Broner vs Figgy.

The guys I view as top tier WW’s are Thurman, Spence, and Brook (although he appears to be done now). Let’s take a wait and see approach with a guy like Crawford.

I don’t view Garcia as a top tier WW. In fact, I think Porter would beat him comfortably. Garcia has a punchers’ chance though. For me, Porter beating Garcia is the equivalent of Josh Clottey beating up smaller guys like Judah & Corrales. You need a real WW to beat a guy like Porter. Garcia’s high status is due to great matchmaking.

He has a great formula of fighting washed up “names.” You already know they were scouting Ortiz and Alexander. He will occasionally take a 50/50 fight if the risk is worth it.
