Wilder's 32 KO streak showed what happens when you put a top tier fighter against bums...that's all. Wilder was the real deal all along:ohlawd:

Wilder fought Owen Beck who was on an 8 fight losing streak

:what:@ Owen Beck ending his career losing 9 fights in a row. What the heck happened?

so far there were a good amount of ppl on my fb feed that watched this card and liked the fights..so im taking it as a good sign casual attention will be coming back to heavyweight division..if we get some noteworthy tv friendly contenders built up

I believe there would be more casual attention if Wladimir retired. I don't even mind Wlad, but with him active, certain guys avoid each other & wait their turn. You've had fights that could have been exciting not happen at all. He's also just too good.

You could have had any combination of Adamek/Haye/Povetkin/Arreola/etc years back & these fights would have been fire. Adamek/arreola actually happened & it was a very entertaining fight. All those guys should have fought each other

A couple of notes concerning Wilder's next opponent.........

Heavyweight: Having won a vacant title, champion Bermane Stivern is obligated to make two successive mandatory defenses. The first will be Deontay Wilder on January 17 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The winner of that fight is obligated to face the second mandatory Bryant Jennings. However, it is rumored that Jennings may face WBA/IBF/WBO champion Wladimir Klitschko in the Spring. If that transpires, Mike Perez and Alexander Povetkin will square off to determine the next mandatory to the Stivern-Wilder winner.

Perez is scheduled to fight The Ding-A-Ling man 2/5......

The fight is supposed to be a tune-up for Perez, a Cuban defector living in Ireland, ahead of a possible spring world title elimination fight with former titlist Alexander Povetkin of Russia.

someone mentioned tarver and I am not sure if he is competitive active consistently enough.
yet, he would fight up in a ship fight and you don't want any tarver fighting up.
against this newly crowned young champ.

Art Barr

Hasn't fought in three years, is 46 years old- yeah I'd say he's gotta fight a bum/some kind of foreigner fist.
