Gun Range
Players will be able to practice with their weapons and vehicles at a special test range.

One of the many Battlefield 4 requests from fans has been a “test range” where players can practice with weapons before diving into the competitive world of online multiplayer. DICE has announced that Battlefield 4 will include such a test range, where players will be able to not only practice with the various weapons, but vehicles as well. The new feature was revealed by DICE’s Lars Gustavsson during a video interview at GamesCom.
This is especially great news for those who want to learn how to operate some of the vehicles that tend to give new gamers some trouble: jets and helicopters. DICE didn’t reveal any specifics, but the “test range” is expected to be a special game mode which might feature a special map designed just for practice purposes.
Since Battlefield 4 won’t feature bots in multiplayer, a test range seems like the second best option for players to learn about the game and hone their skills.

Beta Information
During DICE’s demo of Battlefield 4 on stage at GamesCom, they revealed some new beta details as well. The multiplayer beta, which will be available to those who pre-ordered the game and those who own Premium on BF3, will take place in the first weeks of October. The Battlefield 4 beta will be available worldwide on all platforms — with the exception of PS4/Xbox One, which won’t even be released at the time of the beta test.
The Battlefield 4 beta will last for 4 days, and will include the Siege of Shanghai map, with conquest being the only game mode available. Additionally, DICE is calling this an “open beta”, which means that those who pre-ordered and Premium members will likely get a day or two head start on the beta, before the masses (everyone else) gets access. Just as it was the case with BF3 in 2011.

I've been waiting for something like this for years. I've always wanted to learn how to fly heli's/jet's, but learning on the fly during a match ain't really the ideal time. There's nothing like flying your whole squad into a mountain accidentally trying to keep that shyt airborne. :lolbron:
