I had already unlocked everything for the gun a minute ago but there were a few times when I engaged and knew I lost that skirmish due to the gun

Most guns I attach the reflex sight, ergo grip, standard barrel, either red or green laser and i run with the

F-2000
L85A2 for assault(Assault Rifles)
Ump45 and 9
PDW-R
MX4
CZ-3A1
MP7 for engineer(PDW)
Mtar-21(Carbine) for support I don't run with Lmg's
For Recon I don't snipe or dmr I use Carbines
Ak-5C
A-91
Ace 52 and the 21

Maybe I'm stupid, but when you unlock an attachment does it automatically go on the gun?

I unlocked the 4x zoom scope for the AK-12 and for the life of me, I don't see an option to equip it on my gun.

Naw you have to attach it your self in the setup screen before deploying or you could just do it from the Battlelog mobile app.

nah, before you deploy in games, hit Square and then you go to the weapon you want to upgrade, hit Square again and it will have categories you can upgrade

I never turned it off but it got patched to the point of almost not existing about a month or two ago.
