Nobody wanted to destroy URL, the problem has always been even when there were mad leagues where people could get poppin regionally was over saturation of battlers who was bag chasing in every region. Thus putting on multiple bad battles back to back but then running to URL and rapping their heart out until Smack kept rewarding people putting on bad battles.

Nobody wanted to destroy URL, the problem has always been even when there were mad leagues where people could get poppin regionally was over saturation of battlers who was bag chasing in every region. Thus putting on multiple bad battles back to back but then running to URL and rapping their heart out until Smack kept rewarding people putting on bad battles.

I think another issue stems from URL not being a league in the sense of establishing rank systematically. To their credit, they ran the tournaments for a bit, but that was a way to lock in battlers for next to nothing. Wins and losses do not matter, so at a point, why should we care? Imagine the NBA or NFL seasons ending without a playoff. Boxing without title fights. That is battle rap currently.
