Interesting point but I think the current battle rappers are a bit more arrogant . The older ones trying to cash out as they weren't paid like folks are being paid now and deserve their bread and it was Mook mentioning on camera how much he got vs Iron Solomon that caused an uproar of battle rappers demanding more pay. Twork favorite battle rapper growing up was Surf but his lack of discipline and arrogance cost him and other rappers back then had to wait for a while to battle to vets. Now it's much easier if your nice to battle a known battle rapper. I was surprised when Verb credited Loaded Lux for giving him that look reaching out to St Louis rappers like hitman, verb and them even cosign Tsu surf to some degree. Eazy does good promo by having his channel and made the mixtape calling out battle rappers, is an exception well he is new on the big stages but many new battle rappers don't promote, marketing as they should be doing like promo videos etc ... I remember when Verb, goodz,dna these dudes used to make videos before the battle .they already got the name and have side business but new battle rappers got to grind it out on the promotion tip to stand out . Can you imagine if Twork gave 100% , wasn't having anxiety, and had better discipline, he could've easily beat Geechi and all those guys in those big key matches and imagine how much more money and side deals etc, sponsors ,features,club etc..Anwar as his recent manager seem like a level headed dude and in good terms with the battle rap Elites like JayBlac and URL/Smack and don't seem the type that's going to be in the hood vibe that Twork is attracted to as distraction. We shall see how it progresses but.....

Sadly, the streets was way worse back then well everywhere unfortunately.
I cannot see Rex findings random fight but it could be a beef with someone he actually knows. I can't see Rex just out of nowhere picking a fight I don't know why but I do see it. I thought Vague was going to pop up out of nowhere and pour that vodka drink like he did before or Gatorade drink.:russ:

Lux had the small Lionz Den league and those behind it kept the battle rap candle burning when Kshine,Cortez,Arsenal,Goodz,tech 9, Head Ice, Tay Roc, Clips etc .all those guys that later became Top Tiers in URL/Smack class.

To be fair Surf is a class under Lux, Mook generation. The other day, Verb said Lux gets credit for giving him and Hitman the look they needed for St. Louis rappers and from there Verb name and them got traction . When surf and them came to NY it was cause of Lux .Lux searched the league Hitman was battling and Verb was promoting that league. Lux has a hand in Surf career as well. From there others under that tree followed suit. Mook exposing the industry on how much he got paid gave rise to battle rappers complaining and started getting more bread.

Surf situation is different because personality wise Surf has that gift of gab that that can relate to the younger guys and guys his era and even the younger guys along with all that street stuff.but when he was losing and not backing himself up he started to get back in the saddle of winning and understand his value more. It was a good move being a commentator being in on the inside of URL boosting his value. Lux and Mook are older and wouldn't be able to do what Surf is doing in relatable way with the younger guys. Also the Geechi Gotti type of battle rap street fans can relate to Surf so he has that audience covered and the ladies . Lux did the Hot 97 battle rap with unknown talents nationwide but it didn't get traction. Surf situation is way different. So yes url and smack benefited as they should from lux and Mook that kept it going before Smack Url as many watched these guys that inspired them or the Surf class .ask Surf he will low key tell you as he was inspired by that class like Lux .

So yes I support what Surf is doing but the lux and Mook situation is different. Surf class see Mook lux and them as the reason why they started rapping so yes they deserve to be seated on the greatness realm. They battled long time before Smack.

My fault I realize you don't care about battle rap history like most fans three years in .by not reading the post in it's entirety but that's cool. The long explanation is why the Surf Mook lux and Smack situation is different.:hubie:
