Aiiight I've been gone; stacking money to press some vinyl. What did I miss? I kept up with a few things on YouTube. Alot of the AFM interviews I've seen with P, Gwitty, Jakkboy, and etc. And the Max Out 2 stuff. But what did I miss?

Cass oversimplified it in his mind. “We don’t need the leagues! We’re the talent!, yada yada”

He thought he could just round up a bunch of top battle rappers, have them recruit people to their teams off of namesake alone, and make them all pay a nominal fee to join. Basically a pyramid scheme. He underestimated the logistics.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I liked the fact he was like let me build with the talent after my Hitman battle. BUT the way he set up his league or platform or whatever was nuts. It's hard to get a bunch of talent that get revenue to pay to battle when they already get paid for battles (except Danny but we all know how that went down and that was years ago). At least, that elite part of talent he had around him.

I like his idea. I just think he may have skipped steps. Building with the top talent was definitely a good move. From there he should have done a lot of grassroots recruiting, secured a platform + venues…THEN make the big announcement. Instead, he made the announcement then tried to build the foundation.

Right. I may not be too fond of how P does things but he does get shyt done with URL as well. And you need those folks that help out with the structure a bit more. Keep it solid. ARP got Shotta and his other folks that help out the foundation. KOTD has the face of Organik but you can see how much Gully TK and the rest made sure they kept their structure solid as well.

The talent needs to be able to focus on being the talent and the business arm of the operation has to be solely devoted to that part of it. Imagine Jay-Z in the 90s with no Dame Dash. Imagine if Jordan had to play, coach, AND be the GM.

This whole notion of omitting the middle man and doing the business yourself…everybody ain’t cut like that and it’s not as simple as it seems. There’s a huge learning curve and risky missteps that come with that path.
