I believe Banks expressed interest in battling Todd last year on Twitter, so this is pretty well thought out if it happens.
I would like to imagine Banks see’s what I see in Todd. A very professional, but not a dynamic battler in Todd. Todd wins battles due to the sloppiness of his opponents. If they have a tendency to choke, stumble, come with short rounds, lazy material, etc he will win the battle. He typically gets the worst version of his opponent because he isn’t viewed as a monster. He’s just a professional.
Todd’s best attribute is he knows how to create certain moments. His material though? Just not memorable with the exception of the Hitman battle.
Guys from Banks era always comes to these battles prepared, even if the material isn’t there. Cassidy, Mr Fab, King Los, Jae Mills, etc tend to have great memorization. So this battle is going to come down strictly to the material, and Banks probably believe he can beat him in that area.
It’s one of the battles where he’s not taking the biggest battle, or the best battle stylistically, so there’s always the door open to return in the future.
